I like the variety and differences in how the characters are from the way that they are usually portrayed. It makes me see Batman as more of a regular person, more humane, more relatable. Batman isn’t perfect, he's not “super”, and that’s how he should be thought as. Imperfect. They also made Alfred a freaking bad ass, so obviously it’s a great comic. I’m definitely reading the next in this series. It’s on the top of my wish list.

Such gloomy story that is messed up. I don't suggest getting it unless all you want is talking. Good art though.

This book does show Batman in a new way, but the writing is stagnant, which is sad because it is coming from Geoff Johns. When looking at Harvey Bullock and Bruce Wayne, their faces are similar and some people might get confused. The artwork sometimes does not correspond with words on the page and for TRUE Batman fans, this will book might destroy everything you love. Every character in this book has gone the other way from the true Batman canon, like James Gordon and Alred Pennyworth. Their characters have no resemblance to any other version, which is sad, because you discover that if you try to have a different interpretation of the characters, you find out that these interpretations are pretty bad.

The Batman and Bruce Wayne that is portrayed is also much different, but in the terms that he does not know any other training besides what Alfred has given him.
Batman: Earth One is what would happen if another comic company wanted to create Batman with just the names. Earth One was suppose to show what would happen if some events were altered, not changing the overall storyline. Bruce Wayne does not travel around the world learning everything he can to create Batman. Bruce Wayne does not know anything in this book, which is sad because Batman is the World's Greatest Detective. Overall, Batman: Earth One was not worth the buy. It was overhyped.
