Enjoyed It!

Was surprisingly good...I thought it would be more like a cheesy, romance novel with no story...I was wrong. This book had a good story and kept me interested to the end. I will read the next one in this series.

It was the saddest romance I have ever read. Granted the ending is predictable, but it was a sad journey. It lacked action and passion. There was romance, but not enough of the other two. What I found painful about this story was the main characters having sex as the heroine is suffering from advance uterine cancer, UGH! @. This was story told in a very Victorian era sort of way. If you have read Kresley Cole or J.R. Ward, this series is nothing like them. I think I'll past.

    I Also Recommend:

    I enjoyed this book

I bought this book because it was recommended to me through whatshouldireadnextdotcom as being similar to Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Despite this being a bodice-ripper (in a literal sense too!), I found the character of Pru refreshing. In forcing the character to deal with her own imminent mortality, Kathryn Smith gives more depth to Pru than I see in the average romance novel. This is something light to read when you already have the weight of the world on your shoulders, and I'm interested enough in the side tale of the Blood Grail to read the next book. I approve.

    A good read!

This is the first book in a series. I enjoyed the characters Pru and Chapel. Thier romance is bitter sweet at times. There is good development of the secondary charcters too. Pru's illness is a major focal point but is carried off exceptionally well without being overly maudlin. I look forward to the next book in the series, Night of the huntress.
