This was Spizer's first book. Before it came out, the Beatles' association with Vee-Jay Records in the USA consisted entirely of rumors. Spizer's personal research brings to light aspects of that relationship that were not previously known -- or even suspected. In addition to telling the story behind every song that was released by the Beatles on Vee-Jay and Tollie, the author pictures every known label and cover variation of the group's records.
A previous reviewer mentioned McCartney's association with James Taylor. Details like that about the Apple catalog are found in Spizer's books about the Beatles on Apple. If you buy his whole catalog of books -- as I have -- you get similarly well-researched and detailed information about every record that the Beatles officially released in the USA. Every book contains information that was NEVER previously available in any book.

    A reviewer

The Beatles Records On Vee-Jay is not just a discography. It details the incredible and sometimes sorted story about the Beatles brief experiences with Vee Jay Records through a wonderful, profound text and meticulously reproduced photographs, record label variations, covers, and documents. In this book, Mr. Spizer introduces a Beatles label cataloging system that is now an industry standard. Long out of print, The Beatles Records On Vee-Jay is still in high demand.

'An excellent overview of the Vee-Jay Records!'

It is the most thorough and accurate account of these discs, especially 'Introducing The Beatles'. This book also covers the singles released on the Vee-Jay, Tollie and Oldies 45 labels.
