I received my copy of Beautiful Girl in the mail today. I was really looking forward to receiving this book as I have two daughters and I love finding books and other items that reaffirm that they are wonderful, beautiful, and inspires them to be themselves.

I read the book to my youngest and then to my oldest who is starting to get at that age where questions are asked.

I love how this book uplifts girls! The author mentions girls special gifts, changes and body wonders. As a parent, this book definitely opens up a lot of room for discussions and it gently reminds the girls that your body is your body and to not let anyone touch you in a way that doesn't feel right.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has daughters, granddaughters, nieces, friends who have daughters, or if you would like to find a great book to donate to a special cause for the children, this would be the book to buy and donate! It really is a must read for parents with daughters!

I really enjoyed the illustrations. Even my youngest, who is 21 months old, loved the pictures and pointed to different items in the pictures.

Wonderful book for any little girl

Christiane Northrup M.D. has a new book out for girls to let them know how special they really are and how to embrace their qualities as gifts and gives the message to celebrate being a girl and to appreciate the wonders of their body.
This book, Beautiful Girl, is beautifully illustrated by Aurelie Polanz and would be a wonderful book for any little girl to enjoy.

Though out the book the author emphasizes that each girl is perfect the way they are and how important it is to nurture their bodies and spirits. I particularly loved the illustration she uses in comparing a girl becoming a woman to the metamorphosis of a tadpole to a frog, caterpillar to a butterfly and like these creatures every little girl will change into the person they are meant to become.

Christiane Northrup reiterates to little girls the important message of taking care of their body and not letting anyone touch them in a way that would make them feel uncomfortable. She also introduces new messages of soothing reassurances of certainty of strengths each little girl has to help her with the things she will need to do in her life. Each little girl reading this book may find security in the fact that she need not feel insecure about becoming a well balanced woman and should feel free to ask other women they feel comfortable with about questions they may have about themselves.

This book is a wonderful gift for any little girl of any age and those developing into women to assure them they do have a place in this world to become the woman they would love to be yet does not diminish the role of males either as the author explains that they have their own special gifts to appreciate.
As part of the FTC disclaimer rules I am making you aware that
I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for this review. The opinion in this review is unbiased and reflects my honest judgment of the book.
