Every American Soccer fan should read this book.

In the continually unfolding Beckham Experiment, Wahl's book will tell you everything you need to know about what's actually been going on within the Galaxy (and as a result within the MLS) since slightly before Beckham's arrival. If you want to learn more about where soccer is in the US and where it may be headed in the future, this book will certainly give you a good bit of insight.

And if David Beckham (or Grant Wahl) ever read this, I do hope the Beckham Experiment continues -- you're a lot closer to success than you might think!

    I Also Recommend:

    Fair for the most part

Great book for all US Soccer fans. Its hard being the most recognizable person in a sport when you aren't the best-people always want to find fault with you. This is a quite fair account of what happened when Becks first came to America. Interesting read throughout.

    The Beckham Experiment

Informative and entertaining--the author gives a good, illustrative account of how this "experiment" by Beckham's management, the LA Galaxy and MLS failed to do what they intended to do: stimulate interest in soccer in the US by providing a "spotlight" charcter for the MLS to market. The book goes into detail from different perspectives: players, management and from Beckham himself as to why this initiative was less than successful--a good read, whether or not you are a fan of MLS.
