Kalena More is a fifteen year old high school student with the every day average teenage issues. She loved talking on the phone, going to the mall, and crushing on boys. Things get a little complicated when she finds that she is pregnant with Isaiah's baby. Isaiah is a popular guy that happened to be Kalena's partner in Physical Education class.

Everyone treats Kalena differently now that she's pregnant. Which of course is normal in a teenage high school environment. No one knows how to relate to her problems or what they can do to help her.

Some of Kalena's behavior seemed a little off for what "normalcy" she seemed to have at home. What is the reason for her begging for attention and her immaturity? I think every character could have used some additional back story, and character building.  Then again, it seems the highlight to the book is the morals you learn.

Isaiah is completely ignoring Kalena and pretending the issue does not exist. It almost seems as if the author wanted us to hate him an his family. It worked, I found him to be selfish and a bit annoying. I was surprised when Kalena didn't feel as embarrassed by her baby-daddy's behavior.

This is a pretty good book for the average "teen pregnancy growing pains." The plot is basic, but the emotions are real. I give this book 4/5.

Kalena Moore is a Montgomery High student who isn't into school.

Kalena Moore is a Montgomery High student who isn't into school. Her friends think her classmate, Isaiah Wilkins, is trouble. Life becomes more interesting when Kalena starts dating Isaiah, but soon things spin quickly out of control and she gets pregnant. Then Kalena sees another side to her boyfriend. Determined to put her life back together, Kalena takes a new path, navigating the pitfalls along the way.

I received a free copy of this story from the author for the purpose of review. The review is my honest opinion and I was not paid for this service.

Jenelle Pierre has done a wonderful job of capturing the struggles of a teenaged pregnant girl. Her characters are very descriptive to the point where it was easy to fall in love with certain characters and also become angry with some of them as well. She touched a subject that not only needed addressing but she does it in a way that not only captures the readers interest; it teaches the reader as well with a valuable lesson. May it touch the hearts of the reader and help those who are in a similar situation.

I recommend that you read this wonderful story when you get a chance.

Kalena was a teenage girl going thru growing pains of life. We travel with her as she ends up making decisions that will affect her for the rest of her life. This book will show us that hard work and time pays off.
