Loved It!
I love Robin and Jules. I loved reading this story and hearing about the end of Joe Laughlin and the decisions that Robin and Jules made about their future. I loved the short, it was a great quick diversion. And bonus: it featured two of my favorite characters.

I love Jules and Robyn!
If you are a Troubleshooter fan, this is a must. She fills in what's going on and sets up the next novels. MORE!

Nightclaw
Ok. Well. A long time ago, when i was still an apprentice in a clan called Brokenclan i had three brothers. Shatterpaw, who had permanently broken a claw, Volcanopaw, and Sunpaw. Sunpaw became Sunrise and clans med cat after Sleekfur retired. Then The rest of us became warriors. Shatterclaw, Volcanofang, and me. The day after our ceremony the dawn patrol was attacked by a small team of Enclave soldiers. They were tough and only a recon party. In the following weeks we got reports of similar things happening to other clans. Then, a long time later, Shatterstar replaced Chainstar after he was killed by one of the recon parties. He made Volcanofang deputy, a wise choice because he was a brilliant stratagist and a great warrior. Then, five moons later, the Enclave came in force. Almost 170 soldiers came. They attacked without warning. They drove one neighboring clan into our teritory then forced us to retreat. The six clans in the area mustered every warrior and apprentice they could and were still outnumbered 140-170. Then we fought a massive battle on a plain. It raged for four days. DAYS. We lost many good warriors. Almost half of the warriors were dead or too injured to keep fighting after the third day so we put together a desprate plan. I was to take 15 warriors and flank them in a wide circle and attack their command post. We were downwind of them when a sudden change of wind direction revealed our position. They chased us back to the main force, who jumped on the chance to reduce the enemy numbers a little. They fight without the warrior code, so they kill. After the fourth day Shatterstar and the other leaders ordered us to fall back. Our numbers had fallen from 143 to 57. The Enclave started around 170 and ended with about 105. We lost 86 warriors and apprentices and killed less than 65. We were actually leaving when a raiding party hit us. There were twentyish of them and the lightning speed of the attack left Volcanpfang mortally wounded and Shatterstar in the process of losing his third life. He had lost two during the battle. Volcanofang died a half hour later. This enraged me so much i actually chased down the raiding party and killed three of them before i succumbed to my injuries and went into a coma. Shatterstar had sent Sunrise and two warriors to find me and they saved me. We had set up a new camp when the Night of the Bloody Dens took place. That night fifty Enclave soldiers killed the guard and murderd the queens, kits and elders in their nests before taking all of us to the center of the clearing and killing us one by one. I was the only one who survived. Starclan doesnt even know why they turned back. Maybe it was trouble in there homeland. Or maybe they had been sent to wipe us out. Oh yeah, DONT ask how i survived.

Disappointing
I love Jules and Robin, but so much of this story is about Robin's television character that it really takes away from the real relationship and story.

another great read by Suzanne
I always enjoy an author that feels the need to finish what they start with a character. While I am sure Suz is far from finished with Jules and Robin....this is a wonderful "what are they up to now" read

Great Addition to Troubleshooter's Series
First let me say that while this story is good, I wouldn't bother with it unless you've read the series and know the characters. Brockmann doesn't really introduce Jules and Robin in this story, it's meant to be a continuation of her previous work (which it totally worth reading if you haven't yet!).

If you are reading the series you need to read this book so that you know what has been going on with Robin and Jules. Would have like a longer story but guess that will be the next book. A little short 48 pages.

Expected more
Love this author and these characters, but one paragraph could have told this story. Would prefer to wait twice as long to get the next chapter in their lives.
