Skip this one. The heroine is psychotic

I'm a big jodi thomas fan so this book was a major disappointment. Mariah is left half the ranch from Ben Weston who she thinks is her father.( Ben was snookered) Ben was married for three years to Bethanie before indians dispathed him to that big roundup in the sky so Josh (his brother)and Bethanie can finally get back together. Well when Mariah grows up she decides to go to medical school and even though her parents have a silver mine and other property worth millions they won't pay for school. ---Not to worry. She still owns half the ranch. So she travels back to Texas where the other half has been owned and run by Dusty an orphaned friend of her father. So she checks the books and even though Dusty has worked it for twenty years taking no more then a ranch hands salary she decides within hours of arriving to sell it to her family archenemy. She doesn't offer him a chance to buy or even discuss the best way to go about selling. Despite The fact that this has got to be the most self centered women ever born Dusty falls madly in love with her. During the course of an argument she feels he isn't listening and fires bullets over his head. Seriously. I have four sons and hope that if any of their girlfriends start shooting or throwing knives they'll move on to a more meaningful relationship. Dusty however has been living alone to long because he not only proposes marriage but insists on paying for her schooling. Nuff said!

    Heroine marries hero's brother

Don't think I've ever read a romance in which the heroine marries the hero's brother. This was a real turn off for me--no matter what her circumstances.
