The title is dead on
It really is the best ever. My copy is ready to fall apart and nearly every page is stained with some sort of kitchen creation. That is a testimony to just how often I've used this book. There are a wide variety of recipes to suit pretty much any taste, occasion and skill level. Plus this book will improve your skill level! Instructional photos are great for novice cooks and the generous section at the beginning of the book, explaining a remarkable range of ingredients is indispensible. If you are lucky enough to find a copy, do yourself a favor and grab it.

WELL TITLED AS WE AGREE!
Having tried practically every recipe in the book since purchasing it in 1999, bought with great skepticism I might add, I must say this is the best vegetarian cookbook our family has ever eaten from. This includes such excellent titles as the Vegetarian Epicure. What sets this apart is the never fail proportions of flavorings, liquids and vegitables. Having been a profesional cook, I know this is where the 'art' of an epicure is found. In short these recipes work! I can think of at least four different dinner guests who promptly purchased the cookbook after sampling it's fares. And,to boot, all are heavy meat eaters! We just finished a dinner who's entree was the Veggie korma, with rice and poori. We came to this site because another guest wanted to find if it was still available. Thank goodness it is!

Educational
I love the explanations of foods in the beginning. Every recipe we've made from the book has been dazzling. The very healthy cereal is a staple of my diet now. The color pictures help me find obscure vegetables and herbs like fennel when I go shopping.

Wonderful book, but not for the novice
This is a wonderful book for both vegetarians and those who wish to cut back on the meat in their diets. I have gleaned numerous ideas from it; however, the instructions are sometimes lacking steps, so it is not for the novice who must follow recipes step-by-step.

Delicious and full of color
This cookbook is so much fun to use, because you know you are creating a dish to match its beautiful color picture. The ingredients include a great variety of veggies and grains and legumes. Many recipes are new to me and yet there are some favorites vegetarians use. They are so easy to prepare, even young cooks can be successful. Thanks, sister, for this useful and beautiful Christmas gift.

Originality and Flavor
As an ovo-lacto vegetarian, it's very hard to find a cookbook that will be original and interesing in it's recipes and it's presentation. This cookbook was Heaven sent. Since I have received this book for my birthday last november, I've had a chance to try over 50 recipes and all of them were a success. The pictures are amazing, the easy step-by-step recipes make cooking a pleasure. I recommend it to anyone (vegetarian or not) who is looking for a little variety in their culinary experiences.

Best Cookbook, Vegetarian or not, that I've seen
Full size pictures of finished meals on every other page, easy instructions with pictures of the preparation and a section solely about the ingredients used throughout the book make this the most informative and used book in my collection (and I've only owned it a few weeks). I've recommended this book to just about everyone I know who's ever used a stove. You do not have to be a vegetarian to enjoy this book and you don't have to travel anywhere but your supermarket for the ingredients. Wonderful!

This is the best vegetarian cookbook!
This was one of the best purchases I have ever made! The recipes are unique and delicious. I recommend this book to people who are almost vegetarian and vegetarians who are searching for a different twist in a healthy recipe.
