i usually don't read books like the clique. i'm more into action, mystery, and fantasy. but to my suprise, i ended up enjoying this series. its all about Massie Block, Alicia Rivera, Dylan Marvil, Kristen Gregory, and claire lyons. they are the pretty committee and they rule the school. its full of backstabbing and gossip and new words like LBR (loser beyond repair) and ah-mazing and ehmagawd and Ah-bviously. i recommend this series because lisi harrison is an ah-mazing author. if you liked this i also recommend hottie, bras and broomsticks, how to ditch your fairy, airhead, and violet on the runway.

Teen Tripe

This is astonishing that a book filled with as much tripe, poor writing and horrific teen behavior is popular with 5th-12th grade girls 'and older!!'. These kids emulate a life of nasty, cruel and materialistic tendencies with all of their relationships- especially themselves. 12 year old girls obsessing about weight, their looks, and being 'in' or 'out' of the most disrespectful, 'MTV-is-cool-for-small-brained-egotistical-unaware-teens' cliques imaginable. 'Maybe if I find a boyfriend, my life won't be so pathetic' laments one obviously distressed, tortured 12 yr old girl aiming to stay in the clique. But she won't unless she gets some from one of the boys in the school. What is that? That is dangerous for naive girls. Don't let your kids read this garbage. Encourage them to read books with positive, clever, compassionate characters that will serve well as role models.

2nd book in the clique series

This was the second book in the clique series. In both books I found it hard to follow by switching off perspectives, times and places so often.Overall a so-so book.

    Well . . .

Well, these books are certainly different. I mean, you have morally uplifting books like Number the Stars, Holes, you know, that sort of thing. And then you have novels'can you evn call them novels? Beats me' like the Clique books. I won't say they're awful and sick and disgusting and gross'even though I'm sure some people feel that way, but I will DEFINATELY not say they are inspiring 'for te most part', deep, tear-jerking, and positively encouraging. These books are for the most part fun, albeit raher over-the-top and poinless, and sometimes mean ad offensive. I'm not really offended, because I HAVE some stuff they do, but I can't imagine how intimidating these books are for someone with an unfortunate financial situation or dry hair or whatever else they hate. But if they had lesson and a point and someone would be nice besides Layne and Claire, maybe they'd earn a '5 Star' rating.

    ok

this series isnt my favorite. for those of us who cant afford anything besides old navy or macys it can be kinda offensive. it is nice to hear from the popular people's view, but sometimes this stuff is not stuff any girl would do. if the girls on the pretty comittee are this insecure, they should go get phsyciatrists. i mean, it is mostly realistic, but the messages im getting from this arent anything that i think we should listen to. its a god book, but not excellent. ive read better.

    I liked it until...

I really liked this book until I realized these were 13 year old girls! I know when I was 13, I certainly didn't care about weight, clothes, etc. I seriously thought these girls were 16 or 17. It was a bit of a let down.

    Agreed

I loved this book and then i got older and i picked up the thrid one and practically fell asleep. I think that it is so unrealistic and we all have shelled out our money to read about people with all of the stuff that we envy etc... anyway, to put it bluntly. I also found that I could probably write better than the author and also, do you guys know of a school with a spa? Oh, and do you guys think that maybe seventh graders don't go stalking 15 year old guys? because i sure don't. Instead of buying these books filled with brand names, I'll save up the $ i would have spent on these books so I can have one of my own.
