I don't know what I expected when I chose this book - but I was
I don't know what I expected when I chose this book - but I was delightfully surprised. Actually, I think I chose it because of the title and the fact that I'd heard of the author - though I hadn't read anything by her yet. I started and finished this book in ONE day. It was terrific! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
This is a great story for fans of a drama/love story with a supernatural twist. If you love Sarah Addison Allen, Cecelia Ahern, or Susannah Kearsley - you would enjoy this. There are two sad and lost souls that come together - one who put her life and happiness on hold for the sake of others, the other who put his own happiness and peace to the side because he felt like he didn't deserve it. Is their problem psychological or is it the influence of something they just can't see and don't understand? While I felt like the romance happened a little quickly - sometimes people are just meant to be and why waste time when we have so little of it? You get to see a slice of life in a small (and I mean small!) town in Maine - old world charm, traditional values, love and community. And you get to see a small glimpse of the lives of those who've loved - and those who've loved and lost. And does love ever really die? I look forward to reading more novels by Ms. Hinze.

Unique romance, hard to put down
Its a unique romance with very mild paranormal aspects. T.J. the main male character blacks out every time he tries to leave the property of a place called Seascape. Maggie is guided to seek him out to discover if he had anything to do with the death of her cousin, Carolyn. The book for the most part is very well written. It was lighthearted and the banter between Maggie and the other men in the book had me a few times laughing out loud. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I felt that most of the novel was a wonderful change of reading from typical romance novels. It had very few sex scenes when compared to other romance novels. For that I was very please. I was able to believe the romance growing between the characters, and the character development allowed for more complex characters and back stories than most romance novels can provide.
The only issues I had with the book was with some of the vocabulary choices that the characters made while speaking. It almost felt as though the author had decided to try a different word choice and opened a thesaurus to find compatible words but did not try to say them out loud to make sure that they did sound awkward. I am still having issues when Maggie said she was timid to leave the road.
This is a book that I would definitely recommend to almost everyone over 18. I think the story is well developed, the characters are relatable and almost everyone would enjoy trying to figure out the mystery that is trying to force Maggie and T.J together.

Romance,mystery & ghosts
Review:Beyond The Misty Shore by Vicki HinzeWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
I's a little different romance novel but good. Like to read the other two books in the series.
T.J. MacGregor is a well known artist. He came to Maine to heal from the tragic death of his fiance Caroline. T.J. has been at the bed and breakfast for 9 months. He tried to leave lots of times, but everytime he came to the edge of the property he would blackout. T.J. had to be dragged back into the property before he would come too.
Maggie has lots of questions about her cousin Caroline death two years ago. She was in bad car accident that caught on fire so bad she had to be idea by her dental records. The painting of Seascape Inn was not burned even a little bit. The Gallory said that she had stolen that picture the day of the crash.
Maggie for the past 2 years has been taken care of her mother after a bad injury of falling down the stairs. Now her mom could take care of herself she was going to look at Caroline fiance T.J. to see if he had any part of her death. She saw the painting of Seascape Inn and felt she needed to go their.
First she runs into T.J. at the inn. Then she see's T.J. passing out every day as he tries to leave. Then she keeps hearing a voice to help him. Caroline told him that she had no relatives even though she had lived from 12 to 18 with her aunt and Maggie.
Lots of weird things are happening at Seascape Inn now and in the past. Charming town is full of characters to get to know.
I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review by Netgalley.
