This edition of the KJV is intended for use as a textbook in English Lit classes. As a devotional Bible, it leaves a lot to be desired. It has chaplers and verses but no references or notes in the text itself. The extensive introductory essay, while well worth reading, begs for a commentary itself! Scholarly introductions to each book are appendices. They should be placed at the beginning of each book. Since it is printed in an ordinary trade paperback size, it is very bulky and won't stand up to a lot of handling. My own copy is a few years old by now but is still intact. I would buy another one if the publishers would supply it in leather binding, with center column references, thumb indices, and some text notes. Other than this edition, it is difficult to buy a KJV with Apocrypha at a reasonable price. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
