    Highly reccommend for teen readers

This was one of the first "grown up" books I was allowed to read from my dad's library. I read it once a year thru high school. It is a very tasteful and interesting story on the personal aspects of Jesus life when not teaching the masses. I would love to find it available now for my e-reader. Knittermom, (a 54 year old grandma)

Trying to find the rest of the book.....

While visiting a YMCA camp on my lake last summer, I picked up an old paperback copy of this book: The Big Fisherman. The first 60 pages were missing, but the rest of the book read very well and gave me a lot of peace in understanding the values, culture, and personal relationships that might have existed in Jesus time. Reading the book helped me to feel closer to Our Lord. My quest is to find the book and read it again from the beginning, and find the missing pages.

    IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!

THE BIG FISHERMAN IS HISTORICALLY BASED FICTION. THIS BOOK TELLS THE STORY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, AS IT WERE FROM PETERS POINT OF VIEW. THE BIBLE IS SOME WHAT VAGUE ON MANY OF THE INTIMATE DETAILS OF THE SAVIOURS LIFE. THE BIG FISHERMAN, THOUGH FICTIONAL, LOOKS BRIEFLY AT CHRIST AS A YOUNG BOY, LOOKS AT PETERS DEEP LOVE FOR CHRIST, AND FOLLOWS THROUGH MANY FAMILIAR SEENS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT. AGAIN, FICTION, HOWEVER, SOMEONE LIVED AS A NEIGHBOUR TO CHRIST, SOMEBODY KNEW HIM AS A CHILD, WHY DID PETER LOVE CHRIST AS HE DID???? WE MAY NEVER KNOW!! THE BIG FISHERMAN SUGGESTS A FEW THINGS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.---AN EXCELLENT BOOK
