    Excellent book

Mondimore makes a very articulate and intelligent presentation on bipolar disorder. He makes the material accessible, addresses practical aspects of coping with major mental illness and explains the newest scientific insights in bite-sized, yet not grossly oversimplified, pieces.

Must have for BiPolars and families

At my doctors suggestion, I purchased this book the day I was diagnosed. I sat down with a highlighter and the book and made my way from cover to cover. I had a new understanding of who I was and why I did the things I did. It really is required reading for anyone with the disorder, or if you love someone with this disorder

A MUST READ FOR INFORMATION ABOUT BIPOLAR DISORDER

I was asked by a close friend to recommend some reading material about Bipolar Disorder because her family member has the condition. I looked at several books and found most of them to be either too scientific or too overly simplified. Dr. Mondimore struck a happy medium. His book is extremely well written and gives a comprehensive, yet easy to understand, medically based explanation of bipolar disorder. He also offers many helpful tips and insights to patients and family members who are dealing with the devastation this complex mood disorder can cause. My friend found this book to be very helpful in her search to understand the diagnosis and I, as a nurse, also found it to be an interesting read.

    Thorough and well written

This is an extremely good resource for the patient and her or his family as well as the mental health professional. Easy to read, yet still very in-depth. The book covers every aspect (and more) of the disorder that I was hoping for.
