Her family is descended from a long line of vampires ? yep, I just said vampires. AJ has fangs and occasionally craves blood, but she has also suppressed many of her vamp instincts to fit into ?normal? society.
The part that?s not normal ? AJ?s mom is marrying her boyfriend?s father.
AJ knows she can?t be with Ryan, especially now that they are step-siblings. The reality of the situation doesn?t make it hurt any less. AJ tries to push Ryan into the arms of another willing female, but they just can?t seem to avoid one another.
And then, of course, other weirdness starts going down. AJ discovers that her family is part of the Serpentine clan; a high school friend is killed, rises from the dead, and begins to stalk her; AND she gets suspended from school.
Just another day in the life of a teenage vampire!
Melissa Francis has successfully produced a fun and fresh vampire novel. The story itself is engaging, and you can?t help but love the characters. Many a teenage girl will empathize with AJ and her angst-ridden relationship with Ryan.
I enjoyed the fact that Francis has made her vampires very different from those in the TWILIGHT series. These vamps have their own set of rules to follow.
I am so glad that I got my hands on this book. The ending left me wanting more, so here?s hoping that many sequels will follow!Show Less

Fun quick read
Bite me was a quick read. It was fast paced and enjoyable. A.J. Ashe is a seventeen year old vampire trying to live a normal life in Mississippi. Her five month relationship with her boyfriend Ryan is cut short when her mother marries his father. Since dating her stepbrother has been forbidden my their parents A.J. reluctantly ends things. To tell you the truth the situation is very Brady Bunch (not meaning the story is cheesy or anything). Rick is the father of three dark haired boys: Ryan, Oz, and Rayden while A.J's mom has three blond girls (all vampires): A.J, Ana, and Ainsley. So you can see how very "Brady" it looks lol
Unfortunately Ryan and A.J's feelings for one another refuse to waver. Even pushing him away and his budding relationship with someone else cant snuff out the flame. As if her love life wasn't stressing her enough, things become complicated when a classmate begins stalking her. He is a vampire and A.J. may have been the one to turn him. Plus her best friends are fighting and dragging her along for the ride.
This was a cute book and definitely left me want more. The sequel is called Love Sucks!1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

nice change and so fun!
This book made me LOL a lot. It was fun to read a book where the main character was strong and wanted to solve the problems herself. I really liked the conflict between the ex-boyfriend/new step-brother thing. I can't wait for Love Sucks! I think this would make a great TV or movie! Did you hear me Hollywood?

A fun read
AJ is a seventeen year old vampire who has to deal with the fact that her ex-boyfriend's dad is marrying her mother, so not only does she still crush on him, he's now her stepbrother. She sticks to guns about not being with Ryan anymore, even though he still wants to. She tells him to move on and when she sees him at a party with a girl she can't stand she decides to do a little flirting of her own and maybe a little making out with a boy named Noah. The next morning she wakes up with blood on her mouth and the news that Noah has been murdered, or has he? Noah stalks AJ and she's left to wonder if she didn't change him into a vampire, then who did? It's a fun read and sucks you into the world of AJ Ashe. It's a super fast read as well since the typing is large compared to normal books but it's a well written story and anyone who loves this genre will love it.

you have to read this book it will change your LIFE!!
The book Bite me, by Melissa Francis is the best book I ever read in my entire life! It's a book that every body has to read. This book is about an inappropriate love, suspense, mystery, and more. You would love Ariel Jane, AJ for short. What it's mostly about that AJ is a Vampire and now the guy that she loves is going to be her brother! This book is just full of surprises.

To tell you a little bit more about this book is that first of all like I had mention already is that Ryan is going to be her brother! The only thing that I was thinking how can she love her brother like a boyfriend. So then they had to move on, which I think is really so sad. Also I don't really blame her mom, yeah I knew that maybe AJ would be in the book she says "I'm not mad at my mom." I thought that it must be hard, knowing that the man you love is going to be your BROTHER! So when I thought about it I found out that I would not last very long with out cranking, or going insane!
After a party all goes wrong, from jealously she makes out with Noah, then she totally blacks out. Now she thinks that she bite him and he died! What makes her really positive is that his body is MISSING! After a weird noise she sees him looking at her and Stalking her. Now he's threatening her, now she has to find out how she bite Noah and finds something really important in her past that changes every thing.
So read this book and find out what did really happen to Noah. Also find out how Ryan does all those things for AJ and also like how he fights to gain AJ love and trust back. Also find out how AJ is going to keep that big secret, and how she's going to protect her family. Read this book to find out the answers, and more! -
BEST BOOK EVER!!
This was the ONLY book that i've read that has actually showed me what "heart-wrenching"truly means, and I've read plenty of books. I highly reccomend "Bite Me!" and it's sequel, "Love Sucks!"

Fun Fast Read
I really enojoyed this book it was really different for a young adult novel. What I mean by different is, in alot of young adult novels there's no cursing or pg 13 romantic scenes but in here it was and it made the book more realistic in my opinion. While reading bite me I went through all kinds of emotions with the main character AJ. The main character AJ can be a little annoying sometimes with her goodie goodie routine, and her constant need to push away Ryan." Ryan is her ex boyfriend now there step brother and sister." what a mess right? But all in all good fun fast read dont pass this book up. (SPOILER Alert) Something dosen't seam right with Aj's friend Milia.
CANT WAIT TILL PART TO COMES OUT.0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

A more realistic version about a teenage vampire.
It was a good book but I would have changed some minor details like AJ running for class president and things like that. But it was easier to relate to and believe in than Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. Over all I really liked this book and would reccomend it to other people.
