    masterful storytelling

I sat for 2 days deciding how I was going to write about this yet another spectacular story Amy Lane created.

Bitter Moon 1 was the struggle of Torrant, and Yarri as youngsters saving themselves by the death of their families and the opression of an evil tyrant.

Now just when Torrant can have his beloved and life he so wished for and waited for, his love for "the whole" rather than himself changed those plans. Instead of handfasting Yarri and living happily ever after, Torrant saw life as he wished would not happen unless he forced changes. He sets out with his brother of the heart Aylan to change the world.

He has given himself a year. He will pretend he is Yarri's brother Elloyt and gain help thru the governing body to institute change. The book is painful to read how people exist under tyranny, fear, and loss of simple freedoms. Ms Lanes writing is nothing short of brilliant as these young men we meet in the senate come to life before your eyes.

I kept on thinking about the childhood game Rock, Paper, Scissors. Ms Lanes stories always have a wonderful sensual story for her characters. Yarri is his Rock...She will always be the strongest..Along the way Aylan and he are lovers as well as Trieste and Eljean... Each lover was an emotional part of the story, but Aylan was the Breathe of Pure Sweetness for Torrant. They came a breathe away....

I am of Jewish decent and we sit with our children around the Passover table and carry the story to our children, of our people fleeing for saftey ...Torrant does that every Beltane so the children will not forget...

So yes I loved the book and hope you would feel compelled to read it as well..If you do, drop me a note and tell me how much you liked it!!!

    I Also Recommend:

Another MUST READ from Amy Lane. You can't put Bitter Moon II down!

As always, Amy Lane brings her characters into your heart, into your home. Incomparable character development with political intrigue makes this story a MUST READ. The plot flows impeccably through the lives of it's participants, making the reader cry, pray for victory, shout hurrahs at battles won, and endears the whole Moon family to you forever. This is Amy Lane's greatest triumph to date, and that is saying a lot, as I find all her work to be incredible. Books you cannot put down. Her writings are intelligent, sometimes hilariously funny, satirical, warm and thoroughly engage the reader for a wonderful treat. Thank you again, Amy Lane. Thank you. Thank you
