Black Belt Sudoku
The collection of puzzles in Black Belt Sudoku is wonderful! Even though this book is designed for the more advanced Sudoku player, the first few puzzles are easy and get you back in the swing of things :o). If you enjoy puzzles you should definitely purchase this book!

Sudoku lovers - buy this!
I'm hooked on Michael Rios and this series! Tough enough to be a challenge while being achievable. I've even bought this one more than once.

This book has puzzles that are challenging enough for the experienced puzzle decipherer
A friend of mine loves to work sudoku. She buys a lot of puzzle books, works the newspaper's examples and some online versions from various sources. She has told me that many of the sudoku books have puzzles so easy that she rips out most of the pages and tosses them to get to the remaining (most challenging) puzzles. When I saw Black Belt Sudoku I thought "well, this might be difficult enough for her". She said it is! She did not waste a single page. I know I started her with what I think is the most difficult offering of this series (so I do not know about the others) but this book does have puzzles that are challenging enough for the experienced puzzle decipherer. A good choice if you need some puzzles where the numbers must occur only once!

Good entertainment!
I really enjoy it! It is difficult enough to challenge me without being too hard. There are still some that I can't quite figure out!

Good challenging Sudoku!
If you are good at this, and Sudoku challenges you, this book is for you.

Good collection, could still be more challenging.
The title would indicate this to be a much harder collection of puzzles. Still challenging, but most puzzles are easily solved in one sitting.

Challenging
Challenging yet relaxing. This book has two puzzles per page. It generally takes me about an hour per puzzle. My boyfriend can do most of them in about 20 minutes. My only complaint is a minor one; the binding broke almost immediately and the pages come loose. I did not buy the other books in the series, but like this one and will look for other versions of the Black Belt book.

Definitely not blackbelt!
These puzzles are WAY easier than the 2nd degree brown belt book (probably easier than other lower levels as well, but I don't own those books). I was very disappointed.

Extreme Sudoku
Michael Rios has created excellence in an extreme Sudoku. This composite of puzzles are very difficult; makes one be creative in solving them in the seemingly unsolvable format; for Sudoku enthusiasts who require a mind-wrenching challenge.

shocked at title Black Belt
Was not insulted, but all puzzles were easily finished and I do not consider myself an expert.

Insulting
Insulting...insulting...insulting to call these 'black belt'.

Misleading level of difficulty
I expected difficult puzzles and was disappointed.

The Beauty of Michael Rios
While M. Rios' work may not be the most difficult, there is always a gentle rhythm to solving his puzzles that makes you appreciate the process. I find his work rewarding and wish he would come out with a more advanced book.

More like Yellow Belt...
None of the puzzles in this book require anything other than using an exclusion method. They are far too easy to be labeled 'black belt'.

very disappointing
This book is not difficult at all. I can't believe these are the hardest puzles in the series. My 8 year old can do them.

Disappointing - not a serious challenge
For the serious Sudoku puzzler these puzzles are straight forward to solve. They don't even present much variety in problem solving approaches. When compaired to the London Times or New York Post puzzles they range somewhere between Mild to Difficult on a scale that goes from Easy to Mild to Difficult to Fiendish. I had expected a book called Black Belt Sudoku to be substantially more of a challenge -

I am a long time sudoku addict.
I really like that all the puzzles are hard and there are plenty of them. I don't need the easy or medium ones anymore (finally!). I wish these puzzles were a little harder, but it is difficult to rank a puzzle's difficulty to an objective standard.
