It seemed that this was meant to be a short story and not a book. Not much focus was really put on the telling of the lamp and the stolen design/patent. There seemed to be a lot of history mixed in not so much to assist in the telling of the story, but to fill in the pages to make a whole book. I found it difficult to connect with any of the characters and therefore not really care about the outcome for any of them. The beginning didnt connect with the ending, and if the ending was left to set up a premise for the next book, not a very good job was done, there were really no unanaswered questions that you cared to be answered. Was this review helpful?
