Unfortunately, not your typical Mathewson book

I have really enjoyed most of R.L. Mathewson's books, especially her Neighbors from Hell series, but WOW, I am SO glad this was not the first R.L. Mathewson book I read because based on this book, I would NEVER read anything else written by her. Unlike her previous books, it did not have much of a lighthearted feel to it. The humor she is so good at was seriously lacking in this book. The set up was way too long - nothing really happened for the first two-thirds of the book and when things did finally get moving it was still at a snail's pace. The hero & heroine were not even likable. Her note at the beginning of the book states the book may not feel like her style of writing and that just about nailed it. The only similarity in style with her previous books was her serious need for better editing. Her crazy use of run-on sentences is something I have learned to overlook because her books have usually been rather enjoyable. No such luck here. Advice: Avoid this book and try PLAYING FOR KEEPS, her first book in the Neighbors from Hell series. It is funny and quirky, like most of her books.

    Disappointed

I love this author. Huge fan of Neighbor from hell series and Pyte series. But this one...was really bad. I was confused. Seemed like parts dragged and missing information or too much information. I really didnt like it. Waste of money
