    AWESOME

I love this book. Paul Mooney is one of the best comedians of our time; a true treasure. I have always loved his comedy and this book puts emotions to his relationship with Richard Pryor along with his racial struggles with Hollywood. Its an awesome, eye opening and fun read.

Paul Mooney' "Black is the New White", Review

Excellent, Book, outstanding. These are two words to describe this awesome piece of work by one of America's greatest comedians and comic writers. The book is real and very funny, only one other thing that I can say, is "Thanks Paul" for the great work you have done for all of us.

    Highly recommended

The book is very well written, can't put it down. The information about the years of old hollywood and the people who have made it is just a great read. The true friendship he had with Richard Pryor and the loyalty to his craft is amazing. Great book, can't wait for Mr. Mooney to write another.

    The man behind the man

I've always admired Mooney's underdog status and hearing his insights on being appreciatively in Pryor's shadow was interesting. Instead of being bitter, he's sustained a career for himself in an industry where many of his peers have vanished, died or embarrassed themselves into obscurity. Reading him navigate those waters was a page-turner. And though a large part of the book is abt him and Pryor, he never forgets that this is his memoir, not Richard's, so it's a nice balance of Mooney's personal life and his career w/Pryor, tho those worlds seemed to overlap quite often.
