Loved it! Sam is a balls to the wall fighting machine and she takes no crap from anyone, just because she is a women. When she is enlisted to help rescue a prisnor of war she excepts. Three miltary men enlisted as well and as team they head out to war. Kong and Sam have a strong connection to one another that neither can deny. With so much on line they have to trust one anothers abilities and come together as a team so they can defeat the terroist group. The relationship between them and the other team members is fantastic. With Sam being a loner having those she can call friends means more to her than they know. This funny and heartwarming. Cant wait to read the other books in the series.

Um...I don't like berating books but... This one was the first story I've read that EVERY character's point of view was used. Not only within a scene, but within paragraphs! Sometimes I had no idea who was speaking or committing an act. Poor punctuation came in at a close second. I did like the heroine. She was tough. The hero was typical when falling in love. Nothing special. Hard-headed. Circumstances of the plot were pretty good and adventuresome. I wish I could give a better rating, but the story didn't warrant one.

    I love this book!

This book is a little different from my normal reads, but i like it so much i just ordered the other two in the series! I did have a problem with the way the "speech" of different characters runs together in same paragraph. Quite often had to read it over to understand it. But i loved the storyline; i read into the wee hours until my eyes just wouldnt focus anymore!

This story of a woman who lost her parents at age 8 and was called to help other people not suffer the same horrible fate is a nice story for readers of several genres. There is action as Sam, the heroine, teams up with three Special Ops men to rescue a hostage in Afghanistan. There is romance as Sam falls for Lt. Mark "Kong" Lowe, who also is fighting demons from his childhood. There is a strong paranormal element as both Sam and Kong are guided by spirits from their pasts.

While reading the book, it felt that it was only a matter of time before Sam and Kong would become first lovers and then soulmates. The other men in the team, nicknamed Boomer and Riccochet, play important roles as well and become close to Sam, like the brothers she never had.

The best aspect of the book is the character development...the reader will feel like all four of these characters are people he or she has known for a long time. At times, the story did feel like it was too long, especially the blossoming romance between Sam and Kong, but there were enough twists and action scenes to keep it moving. Overall a good book that is a fine first novel for Ms. Miller

It was a very interesting novel! I liked the supernatural element, and how the heroine is tough, with or without a man. I will definately read more by this author!

    Great book

I was looking for a book to 'lose' myself in and this was a good one. a very strong female lead and she is tough as nails.
Sex and romance abounds but nothing obscenely graphic. a good read
