    Keating Returns!

This is the first of the B7 "Early Years" productions and is highlighted by the return of Michael Keating to his role as Vila over 30 years after the finale of the original "Blake's 7".

Unlike the boxed set containing "Rebel", "Traitor" and "Liberator" which present a re-imagined B7 universe, this is much more of a love letter to fans of the original series.

With the casting of Keating, who doesn't miss a step in his portrayal of Vila, this is more about old fans than new fans.

This is the one flaw in an otherwise top notch production.

Ben Aaronovitch's script is spot on in characterization and the "voices" he uses for Gan and Vila fit like an old comfortable blanket.

However, the story seems to be a bit of an afterthought and a serves only as a brief backdrop to the Gan and Vila...being Gan and Vila.

But it is still quite fun, especially with a small nod to the original series missing in the first box set, but you have to buy it to find out what it is. :)
