great fit

i bought this just for protection for my nook and it has been fantastic. i like that it closes with the elastic and that it opens like a book. i am also able to attach my reading light to it and charge the nook while it is in the case.

    Attention nook owners!

This is the absolute BEST protective case for the nook that I've found (though I haven't tested the new one with the built-in light yet - it is on the way). This cover keeps your nook super-protected and one-handed reading is easy - just flip the front cover back and pin them together with the elastic closure (as seen in the photo) so the front cover doesn't flap around while you read. I can also use a regular book light by clipping it to the two covers (or, if your light is not as sturdy, you can clip it to just the back cover, threading it between the cover and the nook). The semi-rough inside of the leather cover case prevents your book light from slipping around or falling off (the outside of this cover is smooth). It's always best to protect your screen, even if you're not using your nook and this cover was constructed perfectly to do just that. I highly recommend you buy this; it's well worth the money and keeps your nook looking brand-new. Also, you don't need to remove it from the cover for charging; there is an opening on the bottom to plug it right in. This style also comes in a dark red which is as nice-looking as the tan.

p.s. Kudos to B&N for adding games to their last software update! Let's see some crossword puzzles too (or at least a couple more games to choose from).

    Bleecker Cover in Tobacco

The cover is useful for nook protection. I've only had it a little over two weeks but have travelled with it and the cover is staying clean and new looking. It can be folded back to get it out of the way for reading, if preferred. The closure band works well, allows the cover to lay flat, and doesn't add to the bulk that a snap or velcro close would. The tobacco is a rich color.

Like the nook logo on the front

Besides the logo, this is an attractive case and has a good "hand". I like that I can hold it like a paperback books - it balances the nook better. It is reasonably protective although I plan a slipcase to keep purse-grime off the nook when I carry it. The elastic closure secures the nook and will be easily replacable when worn. Nook fits securely while the edges of the case prevent accidental nicks and scratches. Good product for the price. I received in 4 days.

    nice cover

I received this cover (and a nook) for a Xmas gift. I love it. I like that it looks like a book cover and has the elastic band to keep it closed and protected. It is exactly what I would have chosen for myself. Also the inside fits inside a "lip" at the bottom and at the top corners are two elastic holders to keep the nook secure. The openings at the bottom are clear for it to be charged easily and unencumbered. The power button (at the top, middle) is also easily available. I highly recommend.

    Bleecker Cover

I really wanted to buy the cover with built in reading light. But, that's not available until January. I really like this cover . . . in fact, I may just stick with it. I like the elastic band, it seems very well made, and I like the color.

Wonderful feel, better than I expected all around

I was looking for something cheap to protect my nook, but was pleasantly surprised with the look, feel, and design of this cover. I almost picked the backless plastic-clip cover instead because I liked the feel of the nook's back cover--and I usually prefer a sleek modern design--but I chose a fully-enclosed cover hoping it would provide more protection. I'm glad I did. I don't mind losing the feel of the back of the nook at all; the cover feels great.

The color looks significantly better than the online photos, especially the interior.

Something that bugged me at first is that the fit of the cover itself isn't nearly as close as I'd expected it to be. The holster for the device itself is snug, but the cover flap is rather loose. After using it for a day or two, though, I now consider it a feature of the overall design. It really does feel like a high-end leather notebook.

One concern I still have is for long-term durability. The cover seems a little haphazardly constructed. I'm not sure if this was done deliberately to make it seem more like an individually crafted object or if it is a sign that the thing is going to fall apart in six months. I guess time will tell.

One final note: if you find yourself using the left page flip buttons, don't get this cover. They're practically useless with the bulk of the cover's fold in the way.

    Great Cover

The cover arrived before my Nook. Nice leather with light color inside. I like the strap so that the cover will not open in the purse. I would highly recommend it.

    Great cover!

This cover is perfect! The color is really nice and I like the way it closes neatly with the elastic band. I was thinking of getting one of the others with the quotes on it, however, it would have really bugged me if the cover didn't close perfectly flat, so that's why I decided on this one with the elastic closure to keep my Nook snug and secure. Very happy with this cover and with the Nook!

    Beautiful Cover

I don't like to order something sight unseen, but I took the chance and ordered this cover as I wanted to protect my nook. When it arrived, much sooner than expected, I was extremely pleased with it. It is a beautiful cover, very well made and classy. I highly recommend it. When I ordered it, I received a confirmation and was advised that the cover would be shipped in about two to three weeks. I was surprised and very happy when I received it in less than a week. Good job B&N!

Excellent cover for my Nook, feels good in your hands. Keeps the unit very protected and clean.

    Great protective cover

I opted for this protective cover which I could secure closed over the very expensive extended warranty. (I tend to drop things or knock them off of shelves, dressers, etc.) It works. I have already dropped my Nook once off a dresser to our stained concrete floor. It was in the closed cover and absolutely undamaged.

Yes, the square corners may bend slightly over time, and there is an indentation where the elastic band holds it closed. In return, you get a cover larger than the Nook to protect it from dings and damage, and you get a way to told the cover closed. Try dropping your Nook on a concrete floor in one of those very pretty covers that aren't much bigger than the Nook and don't hold securely closed - you'd better have the extended warranty or you're liable to be buying a new Nook.

I like the way the cover feels. I thought I would miss holding a " real" book. But the outside leather feels like a good leather-bound book in my hand. When I open it, I can hold it open like a regular book or fold the front cover back to allow 1-handed reading. I've come to enjoy tine freedom of 1-handed reading. Try sitting at a counter reading a real book with one hand while you eat - can't turn pages easily and I, at least, end up with lunch on the book! No problems with the Nook in this cover.

I'm very pleased with my cover.

Looks great & does what it is suppose to do!

I purchased this cover about two months ago for my Nook and I love it. My Nook fits very well in this cover and I do not worry about it getting scratched or having anything spilled on it. The stretchy band isn't the greatest, but it does keep the cover closed and I like the fact that it keeps the flap pulled back when I want it to. The color I purchased was tobacco and it is a very pretty color. I receive many compliments on it. The only thing I wish it came with was a pocket to hold some notes, but other than that, it's perfect. You can't go wrong with this. I would definately recommend this cover.

    Quality is First Rate

Being somewhat of a klutz, soon after I bought my nook I realized I needed a way to protect my investment. Visiting the B&N website, it took me less than 5 minutes to pick the Bleecker cover. I had in mind what I wanted and read the reviews of a few of the others and kept going back to the Bleecker cover. I haven't personally inspected any of the others so I cannot make any comparisons. The Bleecker cover holds my nook securely and protects it without being bulky. As a matter of fact, I like the small increase in size as it makes the nook feel more like a real book and more comfortable to carry. The cover folds back perfectly and the elastic band holds it in place when I need to make sure it stays closed. The ability to charge the nook without taking it out of the cover, the easy accessibility to the power and page turn buttons and the touch screen are all as good as I would expect they should be. The stitching, finish and quality of the cover is first rate. I must say, in this day of cheaply made overseas products I was actually surprised to find the cover was of such superior quality and craftsmanship.

In conclusion I feel the Bleecker cover is an excellent investment and you would be as happy with one protecting your nook as I have been with mine.

    Looks great-elastic band seems fragile

I love the way it looks and it makes handling my nook much more pleasant. The elastic band is already stretching and it doesn't seem that it will be around for the long haul.

    Bleeker Cover in Tobacco

The nook fits perfectly into the cover. It is attractive but not luxurious. The leather is low grade and a bit stiff. It does the job of protecting your nook and makes it easier to hold while reading. Overall, a good value for the cost compared to expensive other options from B&N.

    love this cover!!!

I had wanted the similar cover that was brown leather, but with no strap. However, I just thought "let's be practical, if I throw this baby in purse, I don't want stuff falling on it."

Oh boy, I am SO glad I got this cover. I think the string/elastic closure is so important. It keeps the Nook secure and clean. Things don't fall into the cover. And if I have a couple note cards or something in there, I can just slip them in. I am VERY glad I got this one. Highly recommend it.

    Looks great, works well

I wanted a reasonably compact cover with a closure that would keep it from opening when I'm carrying my Nook in a backpack, etc. This cover does the job nicely, and is also one of the less expensive covers. I frequently read one-handed, and as other reviewers have noted, it works well for that as well, whether or not I slip the elastic band around the folded-back front cover to hold it in place while I read. The inside surface has a nice brushed leather texture that keeps it from slipping in my hand.

My only criticisms are that there is nowhere to store the cleaning cloth; and the corners are not rounded as are some other covers, so I suspect the corners may catch and bend out of place at some point.

    more from this reviewer

    LOVE THIS CASE.

I believe that this case is a great case for you nook. The elastic band is tight enough to where even where it has been used, it will be tight enough to keep the case closed. The case is a little wide at the fold of the case so it seems weird, it could be narrower and there wouldn't be a space between the nook and the liner of the case.
