A story of redemption and love
Wow. Just got through reading his fourth novel. The best one yet. This is a look at the relationship between two marines, one marine's lover and the bond that is created out of circumstances that will make you sad but also overcome with emotion for the characters. An excellent work from Christopher Rice.

Not worth reading
This book was so bad I could not even finish it. Characters are boring, plot takes forever to go anywhere. Would not recommend this book to anyone.

Blind Fall 12/8/08
I liek to read, but I don't read a lot. I picked this book for a school assignment. It was certainly different, but I really thought the story was excellent. I would recommend it anyone that likes thrilling, adventure, murder novels. This is the first book I have read by Rice, and I'm thinking of researching some others. I enjoyed this book.

Beautifully written
Nice to read books about gay characters that aren't about being gay. Nobody gets laid, there's a very honest but not cynical image of the gay community in San Diego and three dimensional characters. Loved this book.

Wanted to like it but couldn't
i tried this book partly because it was written by the son of Ann Rice and partly because one of the main characters was gay - which i found both interesting and different. i really, really wanted to like it but the writing style was poor at best, the dialogue was ridiculous, and the series of events came way too conveniently to be believable. the only reason i stuck with the book as long as i did was the topic of homosexuality - it was unique. i did not find the characters nor the plot to be even slightly believable. i am severely disappointed. don't waste your time.

Don't read it!
Christopher Rice has a clumsy writing style and no character development. His plots are predictable and boring. Don't waist your time with any Christopher Rice novel, trust me I unfortunately read three of them for a class at my university.

TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY
INTERESTING, GOES QUICKLY, LIKE JAMES PATTERSON. DIFFERENT KIND OF STORY THAN I'VE READ BEFORE. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO SOMEONE THAT LIKES ALL KINDS OF NOVELS.

Feel free to find out for yourself, of course, but I found the Christopher Rice book to be dreadful. My eyes were glazing over, I started skimming pages, and then I just gave up. I guess my intuition was right...he's riding his mom's coattails. This bizarre book would never have made it to print had anyone else submitted it.

Great Book!
I enjoyed every page of BLIND FALL even though the first chapters were slow moving. Everything goes uphill from there and makes the reader want more. You feel like you're there and watching everything that is happening.
For those who are interested in history I would recommend the book which was named in BLIND FALL. It's called GATES OF FIRE BY STEVEN PRESSFIELD and it talks about the Battle of Thermoplyae.1 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

Captain Christoper Rice
Rice¿s biography doesn¿t say that he used to be a Marine, well, he must have been in a past life because this book captures the essence of what it means to belong to the Corps. At boot camp they teach and instill this into recruits and call it ¿esprit de corps.¿ It is the motivation that drives the plot of ¿Blind Fall,¿ a book that I found gripping and fantastic. As usual Rice keeps you on your toes with unforeseen twists at every turn. But what I loved the most is the main character¿s sense of honor 'and correcting past mistakes in honor', his courage and commitment that Rice paints with such a vivid paintbrush. He¿s one young writer who has a great literary future ahead of him. Bravo Mr. Rice! Cannot wait for your next work.

In Iraq, John Houck of the Force Recon Company learned about the suicide of his brother shortly before they were to go out on a mission. During their mission, John missed some signs and a car blew up injuring his commanding officer Mike Bowers who jumped on John saving his life but lost an eye in the process. His body will have scars from the injury and it is John¿s guilt that doesn¿t allow him to pay Mike a visit until long after Johm returns to the states.-------------- When a gift he ordered for Mike arrives he has the excuse to finally see his savior. Entering his home, he finds Mike tied to his bed by both arms, several wounds in his chest. He finds Alex outside and learns they are lovers living together. John takes Alex to see the body, but there is no corpse and the room is clean. When they report it to the police captain Ray Duncan, he makes it plain he thinks that John is suffering from PTSD. Joh takes Alex to his home and when Duncan arrives saying Mike is nowhere to be found and that perhaps Alex is the killer. John notices the handprint he makes is the same as the one in Mike¿s room. John feels an affinity to Alex because of what he was to Mike. John teaches Alex how to defend himself but when Duncan does something that enrages Alex, John is afraid he is going to kill the cop and he takes desperate measures to stop him.-------------------- This novel packs a powerful emotional punch as it examines the psyches of two damaged individuals who don¿t even realize the truth about themselves. John is an interesting complex character, whose brother was gay and Alex a gay man o was afraid of the relationship that existed between Mike and John even though Mike never came out of the closet to John. This is a great work of psychological suspense but it is also a work that explores the damage people do in the name of love.------ Harriet Klausner

Fun read
Rice keeps the pace up, which makes the book hard to put down. It's a quick, fun story. Like Rice's other books, his characters have more problems than most folks. It is a bit extreme but makes things interesting. I like how this is written from a straight man's point of view. A departure from his previous books that are written from a gay character's point of view.

Christopher always delivers a thriller !
Sexy, steamy, murder, hate, love. Rice has a dramatic flair for telling a story.

Blind Fall
Exciting, fast-paced thriller! C. Rice is an outstanding author. I've enjoyed all his books, and "Blind Fall' is no exception. John and Mike served in the Iraq war together. When John returns home, he follows through with his obligation to Mike as a fellow Marine. John ends up doing some things for Mike that I know I could not do myself. John is as close to a superhero as any real person can be. C. Rice is the son of the famous Anne Rice. However, he has "earned" his place in the writting community, all his own!

Not sure of this writer
I haven't been fond of this writer because what I expected from his m2m conquests just wasn't there. The storyline in his previous books was droll. Even as I have this on my shelf, I've read the inside flaps but just haven't brought myself to reading this book.

Exciting Read
This is not my favorite book by Christopher Rice, but it was still a very good read. It's one of those books that you will not want to put down until you've finished reading it.

Excellent
This is a terrific novel, it is as great as his previous efforts- the online and back of book descriptions do not do this book justice. I usually buy Mr. Rice's books as soon as they come out, but this one seemed a bit 'meh' from the description. So I waited until it wound up on the bargain table-and was enthralled as usual when I settle down with one of Christopher Rice's books! Buy it.
