Good Read. Page Turner.
Blood Moon moves. This is good story telling. I'm a romance writer who loves a good vampire, witch or ghost story. Gryphon nails it. The set up is very involved. It's packed with interesting historical information about Pagan practice and witchcraft. The prologue is a lot to take in, but I urge you to take it in. It's setting you up for a page turning read. If you like Dan Brown's style and Ann Rice's characters read this book. If you're looking for Hemmingway, keep looking. This is a book written by an author who is also a movie screenwriter. She sets you up, straps you in and takes you on a non-stop emotional, witchcraft filled journey driven by a female hero that will lift your spirits and rip your heart out. This book moves as fast as a movie and the style gives you a visual clear as day. This is a good one. I'm looking forward to what Gryphon is going to come out with next.

A Tragic and Empowering Thriller About An Amazing Young Woman Who Happens To Be A Witch
This book surprised me. I thought I would be reading an exciting witchcraft story. That was certainly in there and the read is great fun in that regard, but there is so much more. The depth of the main character and her journey is amazing. I was excited for her, concerned for her and I cried for her, or with her is more accurate to how I felt reading this book. The style of the writing places you inside the world of the story with the characters. The magical moments of witchcraft come in a story based so firmly in reality, you believe it can happen. This is a great story and a great escape. It's also one of those books that you need to clear some time for. You can't just read one chapter and put it down. Imagine The DaVinci Code with a main character that captures all of your heart and emotions.

A Page Turning Thriller in the World of Witchcraft
Blood Moon is a page turning thriller with an extraordinary main character with amazing abilities who still manages to be down to earth and totally connect with the reader. Not only could I not put the book down because I needed to know what was going to happen in the story, I needed to know what was going to happen to her. Amelia. She is so compelling. You feel like you know her. And what she's going through in finding out about the witchcraft in her history and who she is intended to become was very interesting. I highly recommend this book.

Another Great Comicon Discovery
Every year at Comicon I seem to find one little nugget that makes taking a chance on a new author worth it. Blood Moon by A.W. Gryphon has an inspiring main character, a bad guy that you love to hate, and a thriller based story wrapped in a web of seemingly real witchcraft and pagan practice in present day London. I'm not sure how much of the witchcraft practice in this book is based on historical fact and how much the Gryphon made up, but it couldn't be more convincing. The story moved along so well I couldn't put it down, but when I got to the end I didn't want it to be over.

Magick!
You could tell that A.W. Gryphon did extensive research prior writing this novel. I recommend "Blood Moon" to anyone that is interested to learn more about Wicca and pagan practices and to anyone that just wants to experience a great and exciting story. Loved the ending!

In The Tradition of the Davinci Code with a Witch Guiding the Story
This is a quick read that feels like a movie. I say that because when you're reading it's like you're in the location of the story. There is interesting detail, but not so much that it slows the story down, which is usually what happens in these types of books. The characters are engaging. The story has a thriller quality with historical information driving it. It reminded me of the Davinci Code. I blew through it in one day and when I got to the end I wanted the next A.W. Gryphon book. I recommend it and as a traveler I'll say that it is a perfect airplane read.

Truly amazing.
A.W. Gryphon's book is simply incredible. The charaters draw you in to the book and on to an exciting plot. Easy to imagine with descriptive writing, I have read many books, and Blood Moon leaves them all behind. It isnt cheesey or cheap, there is not a single wasted scene. Each charater has many sides to their personality, and it is this human aspect that keeps you from truly despising all of the charaters, with some increidible quotes to boot. And what I belive to be the most memorable being one from none other than Jeremy Roth, "Dont worry, darling Amelia. The only diffrence between good and evil and right and wrong is perception."

A Great Story For Mothers And Daughters To Read Together
I bought this book to read for myself. My 13 year old picked it up before I got to it. She isn't a big reader so I was very surprised that she got through almost forty pages on the first day. She was so moved and connected by the main character and her mother that she cried and she couldn't stop talking about it. We ended up passing the book back and forth so we were reading it at the same time over a week. She learned a lot and got so many moral lessons out of the book, and the story was very good. I didn't think it was a tween book when I picked it up, but seeing how the stories of life and death and family and believing in yourself hit my daughter, I realized this is a perfect story for a tween girl, and I loved the story myself. It has a lot to offer about being a good person and making good decisions with all of the excitement of witchcraft also. We both got a lot out of it. I highly recommend this book.

Amelia's Journey
Witchcraft is not normally a subject I gravitate towards but once I started reading this book, I was drawn in by the characters. The journey that Amelia goes through was detailed with interesting facts about the history and folklore of witches. Miss Gryphon immerses you in the story and you feel like you are right there amongst them. After reading Blood Moon I went to visit the Japanese Garden at Golden Gate Park while I was in San Francisco so I could see the serenity of the koi pond she described in the book. I have recommended this book to many of my friends and eagerly anticipate the sequel so we can continue the next chapter of Amelia's journey.

Blood Moon Rocks The Genre
I got an invite to a Blood Moon party and didn't know what to expect. My friend knows the author. It was fun. Lot's of cool and interesting people were there - so I bought a book. I have to say, I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting to be blown away. This is a little known book from a small publisher that I've never heard of. I thought we were going to the party to be supportive of a struggling author. I thought, if it was a great witch book, it would be with one of the big Steven King type publishers. I was wrong. The book rocks. I couldn't put it down. The author said this is the first in the series and now I can't wait to read the next one. If the next book delivers as much as this one, this series is going to blow up like Twilight. The story sucks you in. It's really interesting. And I love the main character. The author said that posting reviews is going to help get the next book out there faster so I'm posting. This is good.

A Perfect Sunday Afternoon Escape Read
When I say "A perfect Sunday afternoon escape read" I mean that's what you need to plan for with this book. It's a page turner. I kept telling myself that I would read just one more chapter and I ended up reading almost the entire book in one day. When I got toward the end and realized it was almost over, I made myself slow down to savor it over a few days. It reminded me of reading the Davinci Code. The main character, Amelia, is so engaging and her story takes you on a journey that rips in to your heart and makes you feel like a superhero all at the same time. The story is a quick read because you don't want to leave Amelia, and also because the writing is so visual it's like you're there watching the whole thing happen. Two big thumbs up for anyone who likes the supernatural, historically based novels or just a good read. I'm hading it over to my 13 year old daughter who I'm sure will go crazy for it.

If you're looking for a good adventure that's appropriate enough for teens and thrilling enough for adults this is the series to buy. Blood Moon is a fast paced adventure filled with history and folklore. Witches live amongst us and help keep the balance of energies in the world in check until a culmination of dates and history rapidly approach and signal the coming of the Witch destine to save their lineage. But with any impending arrival there is question and doubt if they are the one and if they can handle the pressure of becoming a leader, especially when they know nothing of their past. Each person you meet in the course of this journey twists and turns as they are pulled by their individual struggle with good and evil (the line is fine and quite often blurred. We race to the end and are hit head on with a battle that pays off for the reader and characters alike. This book is a perfect summer read on the beach or rainy day indulgence with a nice cup of Joe. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an exciting read and good writing. It will leave you demanding book 2! -
Powerful Writing. This Will Appeal To The Thrill Seekers, The Romantics and The Witches.
I find it refreshing to have been presented with a story about a powerful woman's modern day journey, which pulls into it her reluctance and draw to being a natural born witch. This book has a page turning story with a well layered character, and I loved it becuase the author put the woman first and the the fact that she's a witch second. She makes it a character trait, a big one, but she still puts what's important first and that is getting to know the character who is taking us through the story. I think there are a lot of supernatural books out there that get so consumed by the witchcraft, or vampire traits, or whatever it is, that they forget to deal with the depth of the character. With this story, the author has me thinking I'm surrounded by witches, and witches that I'd like to talk to. It's a good book. I look forward to the next one in the series. It's Harry Potter for grown ups.

Great Read!
Set in the world of Wiccan lore, the story follows young Amelia Pivens, whose perfect childhood crashes to a halt the night her mother is murdered right infront of her. She turns her back on her wiccan life and her study of the craft until the year of her 28th birthday when it all comes back to her full force. As her birthday and the Blood Moon approaches, Amelia must rediscover who she is if she is going to face the truths of her past and survive the murderous plots surrounding her.
