    An incredibly intense suspense novel!

I absolutely love a good suspense novel. One that will hook me, shake me, and take me on the incredible twisty-turny ride of trying to figure out the pieces to the puzzles. I've been reading a lot of good suspense novels lately but this one.....this one is by far the BEST yet. I absolutely loved it. Melanie Atkins just rose to the very top of my favorite authors list, and this book....well it's got it's spot on my eReader in my Favorites collection and it's there to STAY! Nick Marconi's character instantly captivated me in the opening scene in this book. Someone's killing women, women that Nick dated, and leaving behind vials of blood...blood that belonged to someone that Marconi was extremely close with and who was murdered in nearly the same fashion. Marconi can only think of one person who would do this......the man he sent to prison for killing his sister. A man that thinks he has a right to keep the blood of the women he kills. But, when pieces of evidence and hints dropped by other people, perhaps he could be wrong. After all, he's still trying to deal with the death of his best friend and partner. His commander wants him to see a shrink and well, he just isn't up for it. Until he learns it's a woman. Gracie Simmons is filling in as the departments psychiatrist until their regular one is back from military leave. She's not really up for having a cop as a patient. After all, her father was a cop....and not one that was a good one. Then she comes face to face with Marconi, her first patient from the department. Seeing him stirs feeling in her heart and she takes on his case. But, then something brutal happens to her best friend...a woman who Marconi dated. Things start to happen, clues start to arise, and Marconi wonders if he's pinning the right man. And what about his feelings for the shrink Doctor? He doesn't want her as the next victim on this serial killers list, but he can't deny the attraction and the feelings he has for her. I'm going to start there. I'm REALLY REALLY close to giving a spoiler and I don't want that. I will tell you that this is most definitely beyond a 5 Book Rating. It's well written, intense, and completely edge-of-your-seat. Once you've started turning the pages, you will NOT want to put it down. It's THAT good. I am totally looking forward to going back and reading more of Ms. Atkins' work, as well as, anxious to see what she has in store for her readers next. FABTASTERIFFIC job, Ms. Atkins!!!
