More Interesting Subject Matter Than Book 1
After reading First Daughter by the author, I wasn't that excited to read what I thought was the next installment of his Carson/McClure series. The pleasant surprise was that this was a far better plot and story than First Daughter, and I actually finished it quickly. The unpleasant surprise was that this was the third book and I wished that I had read the second book of the series since there were many references to the events in that story. Overall the subject matter was more interesting and there were no hidden agendas or religious undertones to take this story as far off course as in the first installment. The espionage/CIA angle in this story was also more believable and enjoyable to read then in the first where the main function was to find the kidnapped first daughter. I would pick this book up but only after reading book two- I think it would clarify a lot and make this story more enjoyable.

BLOOD TRUST BY ERIC VAN LUSTBADER is an intriguing thriller/suspense.It is the third in the Jack McLure-Ali Carson Novels.See First Daughter,and Last Snow.Has an interesting plot with characters where some capture your heart while others want to be deceased. It has human trafficing of young women,murder,torture,suspense,intrigue,hatred,manipulation,and of course just plain high octane action. When Ali Carson,formal daughter of President Edwar Carson,who has died teams up with ex-ATF agent now National Security Advisor Jack McClure what follows is a web of lies and deceit.Which leads them into the treacherous journey of a terrifying criminal mastermind,that is fueled by hatred and knows no mercy. Ties to global terrorism,secrets,and deception that far reaches anyone's expectations.Blood Trust is an must for any and all suspense,action,mystery,and thriller readers. It is a high octane,action packed story from beginning to end. The third McClure-Carson suspense thriller is loaded with action
Alli Carson's father President Edward Carson died when the vehicle he rode in skidded on a Moscow road. His wife First lady Lyn lied in a coma for ten months after the accident but finally passed away. Allie continues her training at the Fearington Institute with her goal to become an FBI Agent.
However, she becomes the prime suspect when someone tortures before murdering her boyfriend Billy Warren because they had a public fight two days ago and he was seeing a mutual acquaintance Arjeta Kraja. At the same time her ruthless billionaire lobbyist Uncle Henry Carson has plans for his niece that takes care of his interests at the cost of hers. As the FBI and the Metro police detectives investigate the homicide, Alli believes her hero Jack McClure, who rescued her a few years ago, is the only person who can help her.
The third McClure-Carson suspense thriller (see First Daughter and Last Snow) is loaded with action starting with the opening sequence when Fearington is in lock down due to the homicide and never slows down even with a zillion twists until the final confrontation. The obvious villain Uncle Henry comes across as a caricature who apparently wants to control his niece as he does everything else including the sex slave trafficking importation and questionable banking. The whodunit is fun to follow as the clues lead to her Uncle, the terrorist Syrian and an Albanian mob leader in this enjoyable over the top of the Washington Monument thriller.
