I've read both The Witcher and The Blood of Elves. I really want to like them. The mythology is interesting, the plot lines quite good. I believe that they suffer from poor translation. The characters, other than Geralt, are not terribly well defined. I've read other translated series (the Day Watch / Night Watch books by Sergei Lukyanenko)and have seen how the translations improve, as does the publicity. After reading The Blood of Elves, I'm not sure if there are any more books to come (even though these were originally published some time ago). The book is great as a start to a series of books, but in the book jacket or notes, there is no mention of further adventures to come. The book is currently sitting on my bookshelf, but I'm not sure that I'm personally invested enough to continue the series.
