People had told me that this book isn't nearly as good as the first two. I have to disagree. I loved it just as much! It has the same level of continuous action while building excellent characters along the way. I loved the Prelate story line. It was a very intricate web of mystery. Verna's character is more confident and I like her so much more in this book! If this is supposed to be one of the low points in the series then I'm definitely reading all of them! There's always a hidden danger lurking about. I wonder what guise that will take in the next one.

This book was a real disappointment to me after the last two. Goodkind seemed to feel the need to explain things that happened not only in previous books, but also earlier in this book, over and over again. He explained and reiterated so many times that I bet the book could have been 3/4 the length and better because of it. I felt I was being treated like a child who could not remember what happened five minutes ago. I hope that the rest of the books are not like this. I do not need to be reminded of what everything means or their relationships over and over again. It insults my intelligence and bogs down the story. What a letdown.

riddled with grammatical and spelling errors in the translation from book to NOOK.

NOOK should replace any book that has this many errors.

    Great story....but tragic writing....

I know my headline may be weird, but let me explain. When I first began to read the Sword of Truth series, I was perplexed. I couldn't believe the in depth writing and supreme action that surges through the pages. Yes, I believe that the Sword of Truth story is fantastic, beautifully well thought of. But why do I think it is so bad? To be honest, I believe it has A LOT OF TRASH in it. Someone people don't mind it, many people like it...but I HATE it. After sitting down and struggling with my thoughts, I kept reading and reading, loving the story, but the 'dirt' was just too much. I stopped on the fourth book. There is just so many pervertedness, vivid descriptions of rape and sex. It even appears in the dialogue. I was very mad that Mr. Goodkind had to put the stuff he did into those books which I liked soo much. But I completely enjoy books that are clean, and set good moral. Not ones that bring wicked and lustful, vivid images into your mind.

    very dissapointing

i loved all the other books, and they are imprinted in my memory, but this one was so... bad. if you asked me what it was about i probably couldn't tell you except that it was about the blood of the fold (obviously)but it just didnt catch me like temple of the winds and wizards first rule and soul of the fire. it was somewhat bland. it's the worst in the series if you ask me but everything else is great! i love all the other books!
