Laughing out loud

If you wish to escape life for a while and laugh this is the book for you. Be careful where you read it however, as you will laugh out loud and be looked at strangely. You Suck is the followup and is just as funny.

A few years ago on a trip to a bookstore I picked up "A Dirty Job" and in less than 40 pages fell in love with it. Christopher Moore is an wonderfully funny author, who seems to grow in leaps and bounds with every book he writes. However, with this being one of his earlier works, it's really not one of his best efforts.

    A crackerjack tale!

This is one of those rare books I can read over and over again and still wet my pants laughing! It is a sweet, romantic, lonely, sad, hilarious story of Jody, the reluctant vampire, and Tommy, her love-struck minion.

Dark and Delightful, a comic treat.

Rarely on the US novelist scene does a book with a well formed blend of wry wit and outright sillyness appear and bloom. . . Moore does just that, and keeps on going. 'Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story' showcases Moore's comic talent splendidly, with characters both emotive and well-developed and a San Francisco backdrop so well laid out one can almost taste the smog. 'Fiends' will have the most stoic of readers earning sidelong glances on the airplane or in the cafe, as the pure absurd beauty of Moore's world sucks you in, and leaves you laughing out loud. Highly reccommended to fans of Douglas Adams and the like.

    Different, Outstanding, Fun

I've enjoyed everything I've read by Christopher Moore. His work is delightful and witty in a sort of off beat way. And his books have inspired my reluctant teenage reader to read. Last summer she went through all 5 books.
