An Entertaining and Informative Read
Very interesting, lucid and well-written. Provides a wealth of information, especially about the first 75 years of Scotland Yard's existance. Any Sherlock Holmes devotee, Anglophile or true crime buff will appreciate its entertaining anecdotes about 'murder most English.'Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Bloody Bussiness is bloody good!
THis a wonderful anecdotal history of modern law enforcement. The book is an easy read. You have to remind yourself it is non-fiction because it reads like a good mystery at times. THe book talks about the developement of investigative techniques over time. The interesting thing about this book is it proves the axiom, 'The more things change, the more they stay the same.' The criminals motives have not changed over time. The types of crimes and problems faced by police today are more or less the same type as yesterday. The evolution f patrol techniques and command structure is written about very well. Over all it is a well written history. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
