    Eye-Opening!!!!

I live close to Gilman Springs and will always be watching for someone who needs a ride to get away from the life style of the Scientology community at that location.... I heard the auther on the radio, read the book and could not put it down, I wanted to know more!!! Well written, informative and eye-opening! I hope more people learn about this and become aware of the reality.

    Good Stuff

I really liked this book. The story was interesting and well written. Goes into some detail of the magic behind the curtain of Scientology's upper management. Not too much Scientologese but the author was nice enough to include a glossary in the back should you go past a misunderstood word.

    Great book; poorly written

This is the author's first book and it shows, but you quickly ignore it because what he is saying is gripping and astounding. It's worth the read nonetheless.

Wow! Is all I can Say!

Well written and clear information on what is obviously a cult! This group will stop at nothing to keep it's members in line and on task! They degrade and humiliate to get what they want from you. Scarey the celebrities that are lured into what is so obviously nothing but a cult.

    Too Much Information

I was disappointed in this book. The author has recorded a litany of activities, persons and locations with very little information regarding the reasons that people participated in this organization. I still don't have an understanding of why people didn't "blow" more often - what exactly was the consequence? He refers to the Scientologists "bringing people back" but no reflection on whether they did this physically or convinced the runaways to return. Sorry I wasted my money.

    Blown out of proportion

As a Scientologist for over 30 years, I decided to read Marc's book. I have three close friends who have worked in the same organization and during the same time period as Marc writes about in his book. None of them have ever mentioned anything even close to similar to what is contained in this book. They have all spent years at the "Int Base." They have all learned new skills while studying and working in Scientology. It sounds to me that Marc has also learned new skills, which, I understand he is using today in running a successful business. That's what Scientology does. It makes people more able. That's what it has done for me and why I have been a member of the Church for so long. I'm sorry if Marc had some bad experiences, but there are always two sides to every story. Seems like quite a lot of embellishment and doesn't fit with my experience or those of my friends. I don't recommend this book.
