Lisa Wingate's new book, "Blue Moon Bay" is exciting and charged with feelings! The mysteries and happenings in a small Texas town held this reader's interest from start to end. I believe the book will be a best seller. Heather Hampton, an architect has to go Moses Lake, Texas to try and salvage a land deal her company is working on. Moses Lake is where she spent some unhappy times as a young girl. Roger, the "no dull moments" dog has a field day with Heather's personal things. His trek and command of the farm and folks presents funny and exciting times for everyone! Remember to read the riddle on the first page. It's significant and the answer extraordinary! This book will be long remembered. I very highly recommend Blue Moon Bay! Ed

Having only recently discovered and thoroughly enjoyed Lisa Wingate's books, I was really looking forward to Blue Moon Bay. It is NOT like the Daily, Texas or Lone Star Cooking series which were filled with filled with warm, lovable Texas characters. This was just a mystery with a Moses Lake setting having NONE of the warm, lovable characters. In fact I didn't like ANY of the characters. The plot moved VERY slowly and was filled with SO much secrecy that it was frustrating. I skimmed a LOT of pages because I was bored. The author gave some probably factual insight into the Mennonites but, though it was interesting, it caused the story to drag even more. Not at all what I expected from the author ... maybe she is trying to get away from a certain mold. I was very disappointed.

    Interesting plot

I enjoyed the book, the plot was very interesting and I enjoyed the author's writing for most of the book. I rated it 3 stars because there were numerous occassions where the main character thought to herself for pages and I found myself skipping through pages to "find" the conversations. I would read more books by the author but hopefully there are not so many pages that drag on and on....
