    Courageous!

This was my first time really understanding the true story of this remarkable man. I strongly feel that so many people can learn from Tookie and I am saddened that his life has ended! I strongly recommend this book!

    Gripping

This book is an honest look at the life of a young man who was unable to place his energy in the right due to the lack of resources and leadership. I was born in 83 a 3rd generation gang member by birth and not by choice but due to being bused outside of my community for school I was able to rise above the gang culture and become a mentor to younger gang members who seek change. I find it unfair to blame Tookie for all crip related deaths because even without him or Raymond this. would have happened maybe not crip but another force was coming because the anger and neglect was in the hearts of many

    Compelling book - highly recommended

This memoir was an excellet expose into the failure of our country'
s death penalty option on the , the most liberal state, murdered an innocent man. At least innocent of the crime of murder he was on trial. Once you start reading it, you can't put it down. It is also an insight into the reasons for the gangs originating in California and the brutality and abuse of power exercised trying to control them.

    Bravo

I thank Stanley Williams for writing this book. It shows his journey from drug addict and thug to redeemed man. Williams is honest and revealing of his ego-out-of-control in the his early years and then how he grew spiritually and emotionally later in life. Well done
