Ok I just wanna clear things up a bit before I start: the lyrics

Ok I just wanna clear things up a bit before I start: the lyrics to Love Interruption are, get this, NOT ACTUALLY ABOUT WANTING TO PHYSICALLY HARM SOMEONE/HIMSELF!!! It's about being sick of love: of wanting love to do something so incredibly bad and horrible to him that he would be able to hate it and not succumb to it anymore, because a) he believes its a bad thing and/or b) it's hurt him in the past (Hence the chorus; I WON'T LET LOVE DISSRUPT, CORRUPT OR INTERRUPT ME.) There, now that we've gotten that over with, time to review the album: Although I love it now, when I 1st heard it, I was actually a little dissapointed. Now, don't get me wrong: it's not the songs or the albums layout that dissapointed me. I just felt like, I don't know, it was hyped up so much that I expected it to be a bit different. A bit louder and more like the Jack White we were used to hearing, not this quieter more country and piano infused rock. But after listening to it a 2nd time, I began to really enjoy myself. Although it's not the best thing he's made, it's actually quite good. Not only are the lyrics interesting and different, it also feels like each song flows smoothly into the next. In each song, you hear the resemblance to the one previous it, but you also hear a new element that makes it unque and different instead of a copy. By the time you listen to the last song, it feels like you've gone full circle: which to me is awesome. Even if you're not a full-on Jack White fan, this is defintely an album that you should consider buying.....
Just don't expect it to be the best thing ever ;). It's good, but far from his best.

    This album is REPLUSIVE

I was (note use of past tense; I have lost all respect and admiration for the man) a long-time JW fan through all his music phases. So needless to say, I was very excited and eager to get his latest, solo album "Blunderbuss". (I wondered why he'd name an album after a gun, but that's a whole 'nother issue). Before listening to the album, I decided to read the lyrics to the songs. Most of them I couldn't even understand, but I'm not a very deeper thinker, so I put that aside. What I could understand, however, disturbed me. What I found especially upsetting is a passage in the song, "Love Interruption" (ironically I like the music to this one the most of all the songs on the album!): "I want to love to murder my own mother ..." (huh? murder his own mother?!) ... "and take her off somewhere like hell or up above" (as if murdering his own mother isn't repulsive enough, he thinks about her going to hell??) I read an interpretation of these lyrics, but since interpretation of anything is subjective and personal it was of little help. I was so turned off by the lyrics to the songs that I could not bring myself to listen to the album, did not want to keep it (what would be the point if I wasn't ever going to listen to it and I don't want him to get any money he'd make off my purchase combined with all the others). Luckily I was able to resolve the situation and I no longer own a copy of "Blunderbuss".

    Play it on a loop!

Every little thing he does is magic!
Great album from start to finish. No room on my hard drive for anything but Jack White. If you're a White Stripes fan, run to B&N and buy this CD.

    mr. magnificent.

Jack is my hero. Every single thing he touches becomes brilliant. As if white stripes, dead weather, and raconteurs weren't enough, now he does a solo album and it's equally (if not more) mind-blowing. Then he takes it a step further and launches it via 1,000 helium balloons of special vinyl editions! Like i mentioned before, EVERY SINGLE THING HE TOUCHES IS BRILLIANT!!
