Very good introduction to the bond market. However, its usefulness appears to be more for the individual bond investor, even though it still has some good advice for bond fund investors, which includes most of the public.

For those who know little about bonds, and do not understand that the bond market can be as volatile and risky as the stock market, this book is a good introductory education. It is well written, gives highlighted rules, and explains its points well. It is, however, directed more at the individual bond investor rather than bond fund investors. The rules certainly apply to fund investors also, even though it can be hard to get at everything a fund may hold in real time.

    Easy to read

"BONDS NOW" is a great review of everything you need to know about bond investing in these difficult times. There is no better Bond account strategist than Marilyn Cohen, who has written a column in Forbes Magazine for 14 years. She has always given sound advice to readers in an easy to understand way. Your bond portfolio is too important to be left to the "experts" at a mutual fund. You need to know what is happening with this very important part of your portfolio at all times. Especially useful for the retired who are depending on a nest egg for monthly income.

    Essential Reading for Bond Investors

I absolutely recommend this book, for both amateur and veteran bond enthusiasts. The bond market is more difficult to manuever than ever, and Bonds Now! is perfect learning to make informed decisions. What I really like is that the writing is easy to digest, unlike other complex overtechnical bond books I've bought in the past. With this book I feel much more comfortable managing my bond holdings. Happy and safe investing!

A Must Read for Bond Investors.

The world of Bond Investing has changed dramatically in the last two years along with everything else in the investing world. You must read this book to understand what those changes are, how to make use of new information sources and to revise your investment strategy to align with the new risks facing bond investors. Ms. Cohen is a superb fixed income tactician and strategist. The book is an easy read, provides outstanding insights and valuable information so you can balance the risk/reward in your portfolio.

The authors have managed to make a difficult subject easy to comprehend. If you had or have money invested in Bonds, this book will enlighten you.

I read this book in only one evening.
The Authors fill the book with tips on how to avoid a financial disaster while investing in Bonds.
After reading the book, i have become more familiar with such Wall street terms such as, Capital Structure, Interest Rate swaps, TRACE, general Obligation and senior debt.
The authors stress diversification both in industries and localities.
It showed me the inner working of the Bond business of Wall street.
Lastly, how can you not like a book that is dedicated to a Military officer.

    Clear Easy To Follow Book

Knowing how Marilyn Cohen's previous book the Bond Bible was so educational, its hardly a surprise that Marilyn would come out with this book in the wake of the credit nightmare. This book is so timely. Its so well written and so easy to understand. I now understand that my bond portfolio can not be put on autopilot but how I can navigate the murky waters of bond investing in todays scary credit environment. I'm not a baby boomer but I'm buying a copy for my parents for whom this book has special lessons and perspectives.
