I also liked this book because the characters (besides Brennan) were the same as the character's on the television show. I hope that there is another book by the same authors and that it also explores the stories of the 'squints'.Show Less

If you like Kathy Reichs' books, don't bother

This just isn't as captivating as the Bones books by Reichs. It's too simple. I love her books; I love the TV series. This doesn't live up to either.

TV Show "Bones" comes to Book

Although not written by Kathy Reichs, the originator of the character Temperance Brennan and the television show "Bones", this book feels very much like the television show. Note that the character and background are very different between the two, and this is definitely in the universe of the show. It fits into the first season quite nicely and was a fun read!

Great blend of forensic fact with a little ficiton

this was a great read, especially for anyone who is looking at getting into this particular field. The plot grabs you at the beginning and leaves your heart racing all the way to the end. Collins and Reichs are really a winning combination and bring genious of crime thrillers to mind.

Slightly enjoyable but, Max A. Collins is no Kathy Reichs or Hart Hanson!

As a 'Bones' fanatic as well as Kathy Reichs fan, Max Allen Collins produced a somewhat entertaining episode of 'Bones' that obviously feel to the cut floor. His third person conversations are at times hard to follow, and many of his details are off. The only thing from the show that he captured correctly is Dr. Brennans hatred of being called Bones in the beginning stage of their relationship. If you just can't wait until until the new season of Bones begins, read Kathy Reichs original Tempe Brennan series, and I would spend your money on Netflix and watch reruns before I spent the money on this book again.

    Nothing Like the Show

If you were looking for a story that takes the characters in the TV show and puts them into a story, this is not a good option. Not far into the book, it describes the characters and Booth has been given blue eyes. The actor (David Boreanez) has brown eyes and as the story goes on, it doesn't seem to characterize him as well. I didn't get far into the book before giving up. It didn't draw me in as a good book usually does. I would not recommend this book.

    more from this reviewer

    Awful

Please don't waste your time or money. The plot was boring and predictable, and the character descriptions and actions are all wrong - nothing like the show. Anyone who loves Bones will be completely disappointed. If I could rate zero or half a star I would. This guy should never have been allowed to put Kathy Reich's name on this disaster of a book. Read her Temperance Brennan series and watch the series instead!
