Neither Guide or Reference Work
Actually, this is a very handsome book. Unfortunately it neither fully qualifies as a field guide or a bird reference. The essays about the species are well written and I did learn some new facts. However, the editors should have updated it when they republished it in 2005. The California condor entry is out of date and I am sure a few more entries could have been revised. The illustration are very well done and the species info and maps are adequate. If you have a birding beginner in your family, this might make a nice gift. Just understand is a bit of a hybrid. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
