Well thought out characters wit an interesting plot line. The protagonist, a lawyer, Deborah Knott, has a unique background and plentiful relatives and strong friendships. She has a good head on her shoulders and strong professional ethics. The murderer was a real surprise until the end. Deborah's southern roots come in loud and clear and the Christian references, while clear, were muted and not preachy. The protagonist and other peripheral characters were so interesting that I'm going to continue reading more books in the series.
