A wordless book, second in a series
Mercer Mayor has "written" a series of these wordless books about a boy and a frog. Wordless books are made to be shared and discussed, so I bought this to add to my collection of other wordless books, which I use in my 2cd grade classroom. Without words, literature is not dependent on the adjectives and descriptions found in the text, but can be as complex as the vocabulary of the "reader". This book is easy to follow even for preschoolers and its main message is friendship. I rated it four stars only because wordless books are not for everyone; they are best for sharing so that each "reader" can find details in the illustrations and give their opinion on what is happening and predict what will happen next. Was this review helpful?
