    I Also Recommend:

An insightful tale of an Italian-American Experience!

Bread Upon the Water is a remarkable account of the Italian-American experience in the vein of such literary classics as Jerre Mangione's Mount Allegro and Mario Puzo's Fortunate Pilgrim. It is an insightful rendering of family life steeped in present-day Italian-American culture. Mr. Fasone's characterizations are well drawn, enticing varied emotional reactions from the reader. The novel is ultimately a heartfelt and human depiction of an Italian-American family.

    'Bread Upon the Water'

I consider myself an avid reader and was extremely disappointed when I read ¿Bread Upon the Water.¿ The prose switches back and forth from first person to third person narrative causing the reader to disconnect from all of the characters. ¿Bread Upon the Water,¿ is difficult to follow and hardly kept my interest. The attempt at creativity was meager and next time the author should consider using different names for his characters¿maybe something more original?

Brilliant Storytelling - one of a kind!

Bread Upon the Water is a remarkable story. Mr. Fasone's narrative is flowing and brilliantly drawn. His sparkling dialogue is what sets this book apart from others in presenting memorable characters. He has created a family of characters that you care about enough to want to see win. Bravo!

    Gripping and well written!

Robert Fasone's new novel, Bread Upon the Water, is gripping, well-paced, and excellently written. The author's dialogue brings his characters to life. You could believe you were sitting with them at the dinner table engrossed in the fluid and often volitale family relationships. Sonny DiBari and his family are characters that sparkle with life.
