A GREAT READ
I'm not a big reader of non-fiction but this one really appealed to me and I was not disappointed. What a wonderful uncle to take responsibility for his 13 year old niece. This book moved me to tears and laughter.

Very brave and true
I loved this book, and I am very picky. I will recommend it to any parent who is open minded enough to know that our 'darlings' are not always perfect. I also gave it to my 19 year old son who has had most of Tiffany's experiences and many of the author's. This book is very comforting in that it is a reminder that other parents or guardians are out there trying to figure out the best ways to handle teenagers and their challenges. I admire the author's loving choices and the mutual respect he and his niece have for each other. I especially like the ending. We, as parents, always pride ourselves on successful parenting choices, only to be humbled by the next event! I would be interested to read a follow-up book.

A delightful surprise
It takes a lot for a book to move me to tears. That my eyes welled up no less than four or five times during my reading of this book says plenty. Anyone--parent or child, gay or straight, male or female--can relate to the truth, wisdom, and humor in this tough little tale. Wintle tells his story beautifully, and by its end, you wish you know both him and his brilliant/demonic niece personally.
