    Stop! the Seduction

Breaking the Food Seduction: The Hidden Reasons Behind Food Cravings and 7 Steps to End Them Naturally by Neal Barnard, M.D. is a book worth the reader's attention. Parts 1 to 3 (chapters 1 to 15) give useful information on food cravings, how our hormones affect our eating habits, and ways to "fight" the food cravings as well as how to regulate hormones by "proper" meal planning and healthful eating. Part 4 provides menus and recipes for breakfast, soups, stews, salads, spreads, sandwiches, vegetables, side dishes, sauces, main dishes, and satisfying desserts (makes you salivate just reading about them). Dr. Neal explains the "New Four Food Groups" of vegetables, fruits, legumes (beans), and whole grains. This is a book to promote a vegetarian lifestyle of eating. Also, there is basic nutrition information provided on protein, calcium, iron, zinc, fat, vitamin B-12, and vitamin D. On pages 174-175 there is a "Daily Checklist" to ensure readers will reach their nutrition goals for each day. Well written chapters with quality research material and do-able health steps make this a valuable book for health-conscious individuals. Dr. Neal offers insights to assist readers to obtain their goal of weight loss and a healthier lifestyle.

A must read: the truth about cheese, meat, etc.

Breaking the Food Seduction provides concise, easy to read, and startling information about some the major food groups consumed by average Americans (e.g. cheese, meat, chocolate). This should be required reading for high school students on up: learn what these foods do to our bodies chemically, and how mega-industries are able to promote our continued addiction to these foods through the use of our own federal tax dollars. In addition, learn how to curb food addictions and develop a sensible eating plan that's easy to follow and is great for your health.
