Best of the Breast Cancer Books

There are so many books out there and when I was diagnosed, my family and I looked a lot of them. This is by far the best. It manages to be supportive, informative, honest, hopeful and even a bit humorous. I highly recommend it.

Best Bet for Understanding Your Role

Married women diagnosed with breast cancer do not walk this road alone - even though they may feel like they do. Their husbands have a burden, as well; they do not know how to support their wives through this fight. Mr Silver's first-hand experience as a "breast cancer husband", and the lessons learned, proved invaluable to my own husband when we faced this diagnosis together. Those who know a married woman who receive this diagnosis should give this book to her husband, so he can benefit from Mr Silver's wisdom, and be of greatest support to his wife. Having a better idea of what she expects, and where his support is most helpful, will also save a lot of anxiety and feelings of helplessness in husbands facing down this disease beside their wives.

    A Must Read for Husbands

When my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer I realized I was on a journey for which I was ill-prepared. A friend sent me this book and it was just what I needed to give me an overview of this new season in our life. Marc Silver does an excellent job of addressing the big issues most couples will face. Laced with insights from professionals as well as husbands and wives, this book is an easy read and a great gift to that husband whose wife has just been diagnosed.

Best book available for my journey with breast cancer

This was the only book of its kind when I was treated for breast cancer in 2005, although there were SO many books available. It was, without question, the best of them all. My husband, my daughters and I all read it and I have recommended it many times since then. It is easy to read and friendly but still provides a wealth of knowledge.
