I'm addicted!
To this series, that is. I knew I would enjoy Bree, as I fell in love with the excerpts that Melissa S Diaz has posted on her website. But when I received the book in the mail and finally read it, I was blown away. I was hooked on every word every character said and every action every character had. I felt as if I was going through the story right along with the characters. It was as if they reached out of the book to grab my hands and yank me in with them. I loved everything about this book, especially the romance, and I cannot wait to read the sequel.

Good
I believe that for Melissa's first novel it was good. Keep in mind if you have visited her website that it is geared toward young adults & is easy to follow. Great for young readers. I think that her sequel can only get better. She has great appeal & style. I think she has alot of potential & for the most part it is an enjoyable read. My son of thirteen years enjoyed it as did I. I bought it & will read it again. Looking forward to the next one.

A Good First Attempt but features all the pitfalls of amateur writers
Melissa Diaz's debut novel, BREE, is not "bad" per say, but it isn't great either. What could have been a thrill ride, and definitely the start of something quite intriguing falls short, plagued by many first-time author pitfalls. The overuse of adjectives, odd sentence structure, and poor grammar choices distract the reader from a story which at its core is very interesting. An avid reader of fantasy and sci-fi I believe that Melissa has a successful writing career in her future, she just needs to realize less is more. While I do look forward to her upcoming sequel, many readers may not have the tolerance or patience for the inconsistent quality of writing within the book. I will say this, when Diaz is on the money she is fantastic, but when she is off it definitely hits an all time low. All I can say is give the book a chance, there is a great story to be told and I believe there is a solid market for her series.

Chilling!
Melissa's writing is beautifully haunting, romantically dark, & very descriptive. She chooses her words carefully & wisely, with soft brushes of seldom used colors. She gracefully paints dark, seductive lanscaped fantasies with her words. It is relaxing, soothing, yet chilling at the same time. I am impressed indeed!

Bree Is Captivating!
Bree has just the right balance of romance, magic & even a little action/ adventure thrown in for the boys! Your heart will break & soar along side Bree in this first novel in the Thrae series! Can't wait for the next one! Melissa has done her thing with this one. A young adult novel that will surely cross over into the hands of an older audience!

Rocked it!
I absolutely loved it! Melissa's debut novel hit a home run with me! It was fast paced and easy to relate to. I stop by and lurk at her forum on her website and can't wait until the sequel is published! One series for the bookshelf for sure. I can only see it getting better with Kael!

Absolutely loved it!
Bree is a beautifully written, easily read book. I devoured it in one sitting; my mind refused to let me put it down. I fell in love completely with Melissa S Diaz's characters; Bree, her parents, Eryx and Erebos and I absolutely loved to hate Calyce and feel for her daughter Vega.
