Grisham got my interest

My first Grisham read was the Brethren. I have read many of his since, and while all are good this one sticks in my mind the most. you could'nt ask for a more brilliant plot to a story. If you are a Grisham fan, a mystery fan, and love conspiracy, you will love this book...

Not the greatest, but it was good

The book isn't terrible, but it's not the best. It starts and ends slow with no major twist or surprise. Overall it has a good plot with very vivid and unique characters.

    grisham at his worst

this book took an alltime low. although his writing has deteriorated over the years, this book was a joke. he might as well change his nam,e to elmore leonard. if you did not know the name of the author, that is who you would think wrote it

    Grisham at his worst

A silly book, no imagination,no plot, no thrill; nothing like I have read before from Grisham. He seems to be going downhill, each of his last three books is worse than the last.

    Oh how predictable

After reading about 100 pages of this book I was fairly certain I knew the ending and was tempted to put the book down. I read on thinking that Grisham would come up with some major plot twist that would cause me to become engrossed in the book...Never happened. The ending was what I expected and I was disappointed with the book as a whole. His early books were great, what happened?

    Maybe Next Time

This book was my first great disappointment of the 21st Century. I am a long time fan of Mr. Grisham's work; I have read all of his novels at least once and have all the same novels on tape to listen to while traveling. This book should not be in the same bookstore, let alone, the same shelf as his other works. When the two parallel story lines intersected, so instead of intertwining in artistic harmony and building upon each other, it was more of a train wreck: one train being derailed by predictability and the other wandering aimlessly without any artistic guidance. This book is not indicative of the quality of Mr. Grisham and I hope he returns to his prior level of legal intrigue in future novels. This book took two good days of reading to finish and unfortunately those are two days I will never get back.
