Toast with few pints of blood

The story so far... Oswald has proposed to Milagro by the end of the 2nd book, they were both thrilled and Milagro couldn't be any happier. She's marrying the one she loves and in turn he loves her back. Her best friend Nancy appoints herself as the Wedding Planner and was doing a fantastic job keeping Oswald's mom at a safe distance while she writes a memoir for the weirdo and self proclaimed shifter Don Pedro, everything seems to be in place. It was her dream come true, until it's not...

I cannot believe the surprises that I got from this book!!! I finished the book at 12mn, mouth hanging open, sighing and grinning like an idiot. I was shocked at the turn of events, sad that it happened and relieved at the same time. Ms. Acosta that was brilliant. Her recipe: the seduction, intensity, hilarity and mystery that is Milagro De los Santos, add more of Ian Ducharme and less of the dull and workaholic Oswald K. Grant, a sexy love scene that was written with passion not pornographic, an unknown killer, subtle werewolf and shifter invlovement. It was perfect. (cheers! to a glass of blood)

Another amazing book from Marta Acosta, this marks the change of everything in Milagros life. It's the book that the fans have been waiting for. Full of intense and emotional scenarios. Milagro's growth of character showed in every chapter of this book. I am glad that she is still herself only better. Bride of Casa Dracula is so far my favorite book in this series. I cannot wait for the release of book 4.

    a fangy review

The Bride of Casa Dracula is an amazing book with some of the most intensely sexy and emotional scenes of the whole series. Marta Acosta does all that without revealing the naughty bits 'so to speak' which takes a great amount of skill. The book ends on a hopeful note that will leave you satisfied and at the same time looking forward to the next book.

    satirical tale

Milagro De Los Santos and Dr. Oswald Grant are engaged to be married. However the bride is frustrated with the rules that she must agree to in order for his side to accept her. Upset, Milagro wants to tell the bloodsuckers to go to hell, but he loves Oswald so he bites her tongue and agrees to adhere to the Vampire Council's strict code of conduct to include no sharing of the same bed until they marry twice first a public exchange of I do¿s and a second a vampire blood exchange ritual as her intended and his family have a slight genetic abberation they need blood to survive. Besides her future in-laws loathing her, the marriage plans are taken away from her. Her friend Nancy takes over the public ceremony and the Vampire Council assigns Cornelia to run their rite of passage. Nancy is over the top and Cornelia has designs on the groom whom she has shared a bite or two with before Milagro intruded with Cornelia comes her brother Ian whom Milagro has shared a bite or two too. As Milagro ghost writes a book for a maniacal self preclaimed shapeshifting cleint, accidnts begin to occur that makes Oswald wonder if his beloved cannot handle the pressure Milagro knows someone wants to prevent their marriage and plans as always to kick butt. --- The latest satirical visit to Casa Dracula is as always an amusing take no prisoners ¿vampiric¿ romance. The story line lampoons the sub-genre from werewolves to vampires and their extended packs and families as well as wedding planners. Filled with twists including a great final spin, readers will appreciate Milagro¿s escapades as her world is crumbling when she should be at her happiest either way she knows what will occur will be toasted with a few pints of blood ¿ mostly she fears hers. --- Harriet Klausner

Marta Acosta's distinctive wit continues to show through in The Bride of Casa Dracula as Milagro De Los Santos is planning her wedding to Oswald. However, nothing is ever simple when you have a little vampire blood involved. Two ceremonies actually have to be arranged --one public and one vampire. With each, there is a wedding planner to help deal with the finer points 'Nancy, best friend from college and she of style and social grace, and Cornelia Ducharme, who may or may not have Milagro's best interests at her 'vampire' heart'. There are other things Milagro must deal with on her own¿ adjusting to changes at the ranch 'with beloved family and friends moving on', ghost writing a biography of peculiar man who fancies himself a shape shifter, managing her temper with the Vampire Council Rules Committee, and dealing with constant run ins with the 'Dark Lord' 'and one time lover' Ian Ducharme. It¿s a lot to contend with but the challenges are faced with humor and charm. What truly sets The Bride of Casa Dracula series apart from other paranormal romance is the fact Milagro is not a run-of-the-mill heroine. She faces the absurdity of the vampire world with strength and spirit as she finds happiness in her true nature. The ¿Casa Dracula¿ series continues to entertain because it takes surprising turns. While the situations are outrageous, the characters are genuine 'and genuinely funny'. These are people that you¿ll be glad to meet up with again.
