    Great!

I wish LLM would write the Stone Creek series in a timely manner, with each sequel following the next. It seems like a long time before this Stone Creek saga hit the shelves and I had to reread the other books. I loved the aunts and including Rowdy and Wyatt in the book. Stone Creek is a great series but it feels like LLM jumps around from series to series. I want more of the men and women from Stone Creek!

Linda Lael Miller continues to prove why she's one of my favorites!

Just like I did with Rowdy and Wyatt, I fell in love with Gideon. But, unlike his brothers, it was for different reasons. Gideon was still a great deal that sweet boy I got to know in Rowdy's story. And, the Lydia of that story had grown up to be quite different than the scared little girl. The plot almost didn't matter because it was the pull of Gideon and Lydia that kept the pages turning. The bonus was the generous inclusion of Rowdy and Lark and Wyatt and Sarah. And those aunts! What a pair. Anything LLM puts her name on is worth the read. Can't wait to see what's next in Stone Creed and the wait is the hard part!!

    An Unexpected Passion!

Gideon Yarbro has returned to Stone Creek to respond to a letter he knows he would receive only if the sender is urgently in need of his help. On appearing, however, it seems that Lydia Fairmont is stating she made a mistake. Only after considerable pushing does Gideon realize she is about to marry Jacob Fitch, a man she abhors, to save her aunts from being foreclosed and ousted into a world they are sorely unprepared to enter. So what does Gideon do? Why, kidnap and marry her, of course. Isn't that what any friend would do in such a situation?

Time passes with a tension-ridden air between Gideon and Lydia. For Lydia is falling in love with Gideon but Gideon has sworn to never let himself get involved in love again. In addition, he has returned to Phoenix, Arizona in this year of 1915 to help out the miners in the area who are planning to strike over worsening financial conditions. Although we might consider Gideon and his family to be ultra-rich with their ownings, the miners and their families often go to bed without dinner. There aren't any federal laws protecting their rights and Gideon's job is to prevent what seems to be looming disaster from happening.

Little does he know that more trouble is brewing from Lydia's jilted fiance and from Lydia herself, who is not the meek and mild "lady" who's polite behavior belies the tigress beginning to emerge. As Gideon begins to answer that need, he discovers a most unexpected passion more than occasionally demanding release.

The Bridegroom, the fifth Stone Creek Novel in a well-loved series, is a vibrant, action-packed, lusty and exciting novel that is a great read for the summer - for any time of the year in fact! Linda Lael Miller knows how to craft a multilevel plot and fill it with engaging characters who hold one's interest even when one knows the outcome will be better than fine!

    A wonderful historical romance

In 1915 Arizona Lydia Fairmont finds her options near zero as she either marries the local banker or lose her property to the local banker; she fears losing the spread because of where will her sexagenarian kind spinster aunts go. Her childhood friend Gideon Yarbro learns Lydia is caught between a rock and a hard place as the cold aloof banker Mr. Fitch offers her no other option; so the undercover agent decides to save her in spite of her acceptance of the inevitable.

Gideon abducts Lydia taking her to his home in Stone Creek. He forces her to marry him vowing to protect and cherish her while she assumes they will have a platonic marriage of convenience although she is unsure what he gets from their matrimony. However, when someone tries to kill Gideon, Lydia realizes she loves her friend. Meanwhile Gideon struggles between a nasty squabble between the miners and the mine owners that is turning dangerous even as he fears for the safety of his beloved Lydia from the assassin trying to kill him.

The latest Stone Creek early twentieth century romance (see Gideon's older brothers' tales; Wyatt as THE RUSTLER and Rowdy as A WANTED MAN) is a charming tale starring two likable protagonists. However, though he coerces her to say I do, he is caught off guard by the tigress he marries. He planned to keep her safe but did not expect his new bride trying to keep her BRIDEGROOM safe even if he objects. Fans will enjoy this fun Arizona tale as the honeymoon includes party crashers who want Gideon dead for different reasons.
