Very nice coffee table book for the history of theater & Broadway enthusiast

Lots of great photos & information on the well known and not as well known shows to the younger generation.

    Outstanding Book

I have made my living in the theater for 35 years and worked with many of the people in this book. It's fascinating and has wonderful tidbits. I've bought seveal more for my friends who have made a career of Broeadway and truly love it.

Many incorrect facts in the text, strange choices for the list

I flipped through this book in the store, and in 5 minutes, i found 3 factual errors and a few editorial errors. I flipped open to the COMPANY show page, and there was a stand-alone quote about singing 'getting married today' from Beth Howland, who played amy on in the OBC. Only in this book, she is quoted as 'Beth Howard.' The errors continue. It's generally not laid out very well either, with inserts and features inserted throughout the book. This is common for this type of anthology o pictoral retrospective, but it's very confusing and poorly organized in this book. I've been waiting for a book like this, but-- this one isn't going to be the one i buy, i'll just have to wait. THe photos are of great quality and the book is big and beautiful and impressive looking, but ultimately... it's more fluff than anything. There are many musicals left off of this list, yet 'Promises, Promises' is one of the featured shows here. I think that's ridiculous.

    The Ultimate Must Have Book

I've read literally hundreds of musical theater books and in my opinion, this is by far the best that's ever been published. This book brings back the classics of the stage and doesn't focus on the 'flavor of the moment' musicals like so many of the other books. Filled with interesting stories, fun facts, kitch and more, you'll have a hard time putting it down.
