    Fair Try ----- No Fly!

You have to give Eder a star or two for having the guts to try a Barbra S. song, but she's a no-fly in my book. I must admit being a huge fan of Barbra, but I bought the album with an open mind. Eder will never be a leading lady like Barbra. She has lots of wind power, but that's about the only comparison that I see. Barbra just knows how to sell a song. Eder does not. I had hoped that she would be more accomplished than this. The album isn't trash, but it isn't anything special. Eder seems to be so caught up in duplicating past arrangements, that she fails to make any of the numbers "her own." I would also have to agree with some of the earlier reviews posted. Eder needs to take some voice lessons, to improve her diction. It is impossible to understand the lyrics on the fast songs. I hate to give a scathing review, so I will just hope that her next effort is better.

    Broadway My Way

I've been waiting for Linda to do a Broadway album. Now I'm sorry that she did. These are very old Broadway songs. There is so much new exciting music on Broadway - Why would she pick out "has been" stuff? And then she does the ultimate in bad - by singing them in the exact same style as "other singers" I'm not sure what Linda is trying to prove by this. If it's that she's better- then she's got much to learn. I will hope that it's just because her label told her to. Big Mistake. Let's hear what you can do Linda. I want to hear what's really You.

    Linda comes up short again

I keep buying Linda's albums. I keep waiting for her to really show us what she's got. Every single album so far is the same. Repeats! Repeats! Repeats! Either she records someone elses big hits, or she re-records her songs off of her old albums! I know she isn't a song writer, but can't she have someone write something for her? It's too bad, because she has a nice voice. I'm still waiting for what I hope she can do! At least it would be nice to really hear something that only she can do;instead of carbon copies of other singers.

When will Linda record something decent ?

I've been following Linda Eder's career with much interest for many years. From the first time I heard her, I thought there was potentially a great voice in the making. I've watched her go back and forth from style to style, CD to CD only to find her incapable of making any style her own. Linda lacks a true sensitivity and emotion in all her recordings. She sounds like she's waiting for the producer to coach her as to how to sing the next line. Her apprehensiveness is not the markings of a great artist. Also, over the years her high belt range has become shrill and lacking of control compared to her contemporaries. Yet Frank Wildhorn seems to insist this is her best voice. Lastly her choice of material has always been unimaginative. You would think that by now Linda and Frank could've found her niche and developed it. Sadly Broadway My Way is only another failed attempt to catapult Linda to superstar status. I'm assuming that some of the great producers who could've helped Linda, must've heard her singing and come to some of these same conclusions. These are only the observations of a disappointed fan, I truly believed she would be a superstar, I guess she never will.

    Broadway My Way

I listened to this album, and I am mad at whoever is running Linda Eders career. How can they keep giving her this old material to sing? She has a good voice, but never ---never anything new to sing. I am not going to buy it, because the song selection is so bad. I am only writing this, so that her record label will perhaps see it and change their direction. She need something good, modern and current to sing. These are all somebody elses classic songs. Linda Eder needs to find her own material that's her own classic before she's too old to do it. She's been making records for at least 15 years, and nobody has given her anything good to sing yet. I think she needs a new manager.
